Cheer up

Don't get bogged down by the declination, it was meant to motivate you to do better. I, for one, think the subject (Rashmi Singh) has the potential to deserve space on the mainspace. But not until you improve the references. Notability guidelines say we (all editors) need to demonstrate every subject's notability through reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. We do not encourage use of blogs (wordpress, blogspot, etc). If look at the guidelines closely you'll see that Wikipedia itself is not regarded as a secondary reliable source. It's barely more than a web forum where people can edit. Their usage undermine the subject's notability. Reviewers will check that before accepting/declining your submission.

P.S. You're free to reply on my talkpage, albeit since this is not about my submission and the discussion is more suitable here, I would prefer if you replied here. Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 07:07, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

Yes, it does look a whole lot better after the ferocious pruning and trust me it is not being overlooked. I may re-review the page. But, do not stop working on the page. Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 07:03, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Love's Journey article

I read your most recent AfC submission of Love's Journey. I think it has a lot of potential, but it still needs some work. The lead ought to be clarified and expanded (I didn't know it was a book until the second sentence). Phrases like "It seems the author Singh Rashmi (Rashmi Singh) has narrated a real life story" and "this novel is considered as an 'all time favorite'" are too promotional for an encyclopedia article. Some additional sources from mainstream publications or websites would complement the sources you've already provided. I hope my feedback is helpful to you. Good luck! -Mabeenot (talk) 01:05, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

  • Thank you so much. Actually earlier I had posted some more lines about the book but thought the editors will not like so removed it. Thanks for going through it. I am ggoing to make the relevant changes and let you know.Ananyaprasad (talk) 05:03, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
I have a couple small questions:
  1. Is the author's name Singh Rashmi or Rashmi Singh? Have the media simply been mixing it up? If so, state the correct name and explain later that she's sometimes erroneously credited as another name.
  2. I don't understand "It reminds as to how religious fundamentalism had taken the life of a Christian missionary not so long ago in real life." Is this in reference to something that happened in the book or in real life? If real life, what incident are they referring to?
If you can clarify those two issues, I'll do a minor copyedit and see if the article is ready for mainspace. –Mabeenot (talk) 05:43, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
I've moved the reviews into the last section, which has been renamed "Reception". I also did some copyediting and formatting. Take a look at the updated page. –Mabeenot (talk) 07:22, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Have made edits about author as her page has been created:) Thanks for your help. As I am new to all this, thus facing a lot of difficulty Ananyaprasad (talk) 14:25, 5 October 2012 (UTC) Pls help.

Duplicates

Please see this and say which is the master. If the one you've been working on, then go to the other and see how I formatted it. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:27, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Formatting tips

  • References come after punctuation
  • Get rid of the bold
  • Book titles in italics
  • Lower case for: Author, Personality Development Trainer, Novelist, Freelance Writer
  • No need to link common words

Good luck :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:48, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

  • Thanks a lot for the help. I am just wondering how helpful you people are! Please do the needful which I am not able to do and resolve the duplicate issue. Thanks for the tips. Very encouraging.Ananyaprasad (talk) 07:52, 5 October 2012 (UTC)

Deletion discussion

Relax and let the AfD process run its course. Right now, it appears to be a question of whether the sources provided fulfill notability requirements. I don't know which way consensus will lean, but continually posting new rationale like you've done at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Love's Journey won't help matters. Just wait and see. –Mabeenot (talk) 09:58, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

I've just reverted you at the AfD for Love's Journey. You cannot !vote twice in an AfD. I suggest that you say whatever it is you want to say as a comment. Regardless of the outcome, I am going to be keeping quite a close eye on what goes on in future because there is clear conflict of interest in this series of articles. - Sitush (talk) 14:33, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
Your last message in this thread, by the way, is canvassing. Please do not ask other people to !vote etc You need to pose a neutrally-worded statement if you want to draw their attention to the AfD. - Sitush (talk) 14:37, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Alright, I wasn't knowing this. Kindly remove the 'Keep' word and make it a comment.Ananyaprasad (talk) 14:55, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
  • btw i have never asked anyone to vote etc. Why would I ? You go and delete this article but don't blame me publicly like this. I only posted a link from Wikipedia, which I read about one reliable source. You deleted it. it's okay but how can you say that I am asking anyone to vote? Has anyone except the editors landed on the page? Please if you have to delete it go ahead but refrain from direct disparaging commentsAnanyaprasad (talk) 15:24, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

AfD

Hi! I can't undelete the article, but I can ask around to see if you can keep a copy of the article in your userspace to work on until it passes general consensus for notability.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 13:20, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

  • Hey, I've asked one of the admins to give you a copy for your userspace. I do want to stress that this should remain in your userspace until it passes notability guidelines and I highly recommend that you get someone from WP:INDIA to help you out with finding sources and seeing if it passes WP:AUTHOR. If you transfer it too quickly into the mainspace, it could get re-deleted fairly quickly, which I know we'd both like to avoid.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 13:25, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Stradavarius has transferred a copy to your userspace, so feel free to work on it here until then!Tokyogirl79 (talk) 13:41, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
*Thanks. Just one query- sources of Hindi renowned newspapers will do?Ananyaprasad (talk) 06:54, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

In case you didn't see my comment on my page, you may use Reliable sources noticeboard the guys commenting there - I should think - know more about reliability of sources (they specialize in these sort of things), don't worry, let them decide and you will learn a lot about reliable sources trust me. Use WP:RSN. Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 15:53, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
About noticeboards
  • There are many Wikipedia:Noticeboards. Noticeboards on Wikipedia are pages where editors can ask questions and request assistance from people who are familiar with the policies and guidelines covered by each individual board. They are to be used for specific problems that editors encounter in writing and maintaining Wikipedia articles. Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 15:56, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi again.

Hello. I commented on my talk page. I then saw your comments on Boolyme's talk page. I think you should take his offer of helping you out in creating the wiki page for Love's journey. Thank you. Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 10:15, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. But I'd like to go about this page first. I am looking for more links and hope will get it. Ananyaprasad (talk) 06:38, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Usha Kiran Khan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://kusumanjali.org/winner.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Sitush (talk) 09:11, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Usha Kiran Khan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Maithili (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hounding / Usha Kiran Khan

If you experience anything more that you consider hounding please keep track of it or let me know, once enough evidence is accumulated it can be taken to ANI and a case presented, since one of the users is an administrator it will need to be a clear cut case. I don't believe there is evidence of it at this point so best to let it drop but the issue has been raised so hopefully it will provide enough warning to be careful about following you around.

I created the article Usha Kiran Khan. It is important that it relies 100% on secondary sources - newspapers, magazines etc.. an attempt to use primary sources (such as this) will result in the article being opened for deletion by someone. Obviously the article is very incomplete, but that is because the secondary sources don't say any more. However it should be enough to survive a deletion attempt because the sources are good. That is how Wikipedia works. Regards. -- Green Cardamom (talk) 20:06, 26 October 2013 (UTC)
