From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A tag has been placed on Mihaela Mitrache requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 20:16, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry to be so blunt. When I try to be supportive of attempts to improve the encyclopedia by people for whom English is a second language, some of them interpret it as a mandate to go ahead and add "content" which is clearly unsuitable. There are also a number of people who create articles about themselves or relatives, which is strongly discouraged under WP:AUTO. The relevant guideline for determining whether her article should be here is at WP:BIO#Creative professionals.
May I also suggest that you quickly add alternate spellings of her name which may be referenced in other related publications. I only found her IMDB entry by chance after guessing that the last line of the Romanian Wikipedia article named a film with an English name.
If the article is deleted, you may work on it in a subpage such as User:Ana-maria Miron/Mihaela Mitrache, and ask for advice as to when it might be ready for the main encyclopedia. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 21:03, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It appears that an editor has decided the ro: article constitutes an assertion of notability, thereby making the speedy deletion inappropriate. As for further improvements, although it is not required that references be in English, it is appropriate to indicate the language the reference is in, for example, by adding {{ro icon}} outside the brackets in those references in Romanian. Also linking to the National Theatre Bucharest (which seems to be what we call it here) would help. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 21:29, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe u could help me with bringging the photo on the page instead of reaching it via hyperlink. thanx again! (Ana-Maria Miron (talk) 23:08, 11 March 2008 (UTC))[reply]
If, you, yourself, took the photo now ro:, and are releasing it under GFDL, you can do the same here. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 23:46, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Quite. Looks fine to me now. (I'm afraid I don't know how to add more complex tags, either. The only image I uploaded as {{PD-self}}.) — Arthur Rubin (talk) 22:30, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
