Information icon Hello, I'm Squeakachu. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Taylor Small have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Squeakachu (talk) 22:00, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Jlwoodwa. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Vaginoplasty seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. jlwoodwa (talk) 22:57, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Brianna Titone, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. jlwoodwa (talk) 23:05, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Taylor Small. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. jlwoodwa (talk) 23:05, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Vaginoplasty. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Raladic (talk) 23:49, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Transgender hormone therapy. Raladic (talk) 23:51, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don’t understand, you’ll have to please explain to me how my factual edit was disruptive? Best, Ambeskine (talk) 23:53, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. jlwoodwa (talk) 22:59, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for reverting

[edit]

You responded to my revert, saying No reason given for reverting. My revert's edit summary linked to MOS:DEADNAME, which states:

If a living transgender or non-binary person was not notable under a former name (a deadname), it should not be included in any page (including lists, redirects, disambiguation pages, category names, templates, etc.), even in quotations, even if reliable sourcing exists.

I don't see anything in the article showing that Titone was notable under her former name. jlwoodwa (talk) 23:56, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Titone has publications and has been mentioned in news reports under their former name. Ambeskine (talk) 00:08, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn't constitute notability. jlwoodwa (talk) 00:09, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it does. Titone was well known as a geophysics researcher before transition. Ambeskine (talk) 00:20, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"Well known" does not constitute notability. jlwoodwa (talk) 00:29, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring and violating the three-revert rule. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Daniel Case (talk) 04:17, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. See you all in 2 days. Ambeskine (talk) 04:18, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently making disruptive edits.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Isabelle Belato 🏳‍🌈 00:05, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Isabelle Belato: I’m confused about why I was blocked based on a policy apparently about hate speech? I haven’t engaged in any such behavior here and personally I deplore all forms of hate. I hoping you can explain why you blocked me? Best, Ambeskine (talk) 00:26, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that you are confused at all. You were deliberately trolling and you are continuing to try to troll here by asking questions that you already know the answer to solely in the hope of wasting people's time. Please stop or your access to this talk page can be revoked too. --DanielRigal (talk) 00:34, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to appeal my block, how do I do that? Ambeskine (talk) 00:40, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The instructions to appeal your block are in the orange box above, as well as in here. Isabelle Belato 🏳‍🌈 00:47, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
