Thanks, and Welcome!

[edit]

Hello Amazins490! Thanks a lot for your message. There were one or two unusually persistant vandals editing that page, and why they chose Ramaz as a target I couldn't tell you. On that note, let me introduce myself and welcome you! My name is Eric, and it is my pleasure to be the first to welcome you to Wikipedia. I hope you will decide to stay a long time and help us continue to make this one of the greatest sites on the world wide web. Here are a few useful links for you to explore:

In addition to that great wealth of knowledge, let me offer you this advice: do what you enjoy! If you enjoy contributing to sports articles, do so! If you like to correct typoes (...), write new articles, find better ways to organize articles, make useful templates, work on projects with others, or even welcome new members, do so! A happy member of our community is a productive member of our community. You can read all of the above links to the last word, or you can jump right into editing. Be bold!

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have the need to sign a page without the time and date, you can use three tildes (~~~). If you have any questions that aren't easily found with the above links, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question. Once again, welcome to Wikipedia and enjoy!

EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 18:58, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P.S.- If you'd like to introduce yourself to the community and perhaps get a question or two answered in the process, drop us a line at the new user log.

US Collaboration of the week

[edit]

You have voted for Transportation in New York City on WP:USCOTW. It was selected to be this week's winner. You are invited to contribute to improve Transportation in New York City in any way you can. Cmadler 13:27, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Charlie the Unicorn. Charlie the Unicorn will be nominated for deletion again, you can be sure of it. You'd better get that article up to standards immediately if you want to keep it. It has to adhere to WP:N, WP:V, WP:RS, and WP:NOR, at a minimum. — coelacan talk19:24, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Goats

[edit]

Goats look like rams. You like Ramaz. Ramaz is a ram. Ergo, you like goats

WikiTalmud

[edit]

I just started a new project with a friend that I think you might be interested in. I would love for your imput and help in starting this up. Our goal: An internet wiki database that contains the major Jewish texts and a forum for discussing and arguing halacha. Check it out: WikiTalmud. --יהושועEric 06:59, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Mets

[edit]

The problem you asked about is caused by redirected links in the {{Mets}} template. For the name to appear in bold on the player's page, the link in the template needs to match the exact page name. For example, Howard Johnson is in the template as [[Howard Johnson (baseball player)|Howard Johnson]] and Howard Johnson (baseball player) is the correct page name. However, Joe Smith is in the template as [[Joe Smith (baseball player)|Joe Smith]], but Joe Smith (baseball player) is a redirect to the actual page Joe Smith (baseball). I'll go through the template and fix these. -- Zyxw 14:56, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Amazins490! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
