Interwiki havoc

[edit]

Hey! Please stop deleting interwiki external links to GIMP official communities in languages worldwide, just because your own spam got deleted in English Wiki. --Linfocito B ~ Greetings from Colombia. 16:14, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, there are not official communities except gimp.org. If you think gimpusers.com is spam although it is linked on http://www.gimp.org/links/, it's ok, but why are the other spam sites accepted? I'm waiting for objective guidelines, thanks. Amay82 (talk) 16:17, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again. Maybe it is not official in the scope of the main English project, but in other languages, "official localized communities" (those sharing the gimp.org domain) are important for keeping feedback and learning about the software, in this case GIMP. Remember, not everyone knows english; english-only external links in a foreign Wiki will be difficult to understand for those foreign users in search of more learning resources. --Linfocito B ~ Greetings from Colombia. 16:39, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, as far as I know, there are no communities that share the gimp.org domain. Which sites do you mean? Amay82 (talk) 17:02, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I "semireverted" my edit in cz:wiki by deleting some truly spam links in cz:GIMP ([1]) but keeping the localized community ones. --Linfocito B ~ Greetings from Colombia. 16:48, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. What is about, for instance, gimp.cz and and gimpology.com? These are non-official sites and should be listed in a link collection, but not in an encyclopedia. Amay82 (talk) 17:02, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's great that you're cleaning this stuff up from the English wiki. However, the other wikis have their own editing policies. You might want to discuss changes on those wikis rather than pouting about your site not being included here. Just a friendly suggestion. Nandesuka (talk) 16:27, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. However, spam is nothing one can disuss about and all these sites are spam. I do not pout about anything but have indeed learnt the difference between an encylopedia and a link collection. So, I don't want to help Wikipedia by adding links anymore (like before), but instead by removing inappropriate links. Please mind that I never intended to spam or to harm the Wikipedia project at any time. Amay82 (talk) 17:02, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
