Conflict of interest

[edit]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 18:58, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Query about deletion of article

[edit]

I see you have asked how to get the article Amanuel Melles deleted.

  1. I have removed your query from the article itself and put it into the article's talk page, which is a more appropriate place for it.
  2. I have edited the article, restoring much of the material you put into it. Perhaps this will meet your requirements, in which case you can ignore the rest of this message.
  3. If, however, you do still want the article to be deleted, you can propose it for deletion if you wish to. You can do this by placing the following at the top of the article: {{subst:prod|Write your reason for wanting it deleted here.}}. If you do this the article will be deleted after 7 days unless someone else objects to the proposal.
  4. If someone does object to a deletion proposal, and if you still wish to have the article deleted, you can propose it as an "article for deletion". This is similar, except that a page is set up where the proposal to delete the article can be discussed before a decision is reached. Setting this up is somewhat more complicated; instructions can be found at How to list pages for deletion, but the process can be a little confusing if you are not used to it. If you get as far as wanting this and would prefer to avoid learning the process for a one-off occasion you are welcome to contact me on my talk page and I will do it for you.

I hope some of the above will be of help to you. Please leave a message on my talk page if you have anything else to ask or say about this. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:08, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
