Userboxes
Are the userboxes on your page all you have for now, and where do you want them? w.carter-Talk 19:18, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
Yes there all I have for now, and to the right would be fine.☻MirrorFreak☺ 19:23, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
Done You seems to know a lot about how to get around the Wikipedia for a newbie. :) And creating userboxes and all. Are you sure we have not met before? Well, now you can see how the frame thing is done and fill in more boxes later. Best, w.carter-Talk 19:30, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
W.carter. I Don't think we've met before. What makes you think we have?☻MirrorFreak☺ 19:38, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, just a feeling, you remind me very much of someone. But then again I talk to so many people here at the Wikipedia. Hope you like your new "box-box". :) Cheers, w.carter-Talk 19:42, 20 July 2014 (UTC)

Page protection
Hey there, I follow requests for page protection on my watchlist and saw you asked for protection on your user page. I can understand you want to protect your page, but as was noted in the request, pages are not protected preemptively (that is, we don't protect pages because there may be a threat that hasn't occurred yet). If someone should do it, just undo their edit. In the unlikely event someone is specifically targeting your page, let me know. I'll even add you to my watchlist so I can see if something changes. --McDoobAU93 15:41, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
WikiProject Requested Articles
Hi MirrorFreak, thanks for signing up to the WikiProject. I'm afraid it's not massively active or useful at present, we're basically just waiting on the bot. I'll update you as we get news. Thanks again, Matty.007 19:20, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
Teahouse
Hi MirrorFreak, my name is Jethro, a host at the Teahouse. I noticed you were interested in hosting and helping new editors out, which is fantastic. However, hosts should have some experience on Wikipedia (not necessarily a lot or anything), and I noticed you've just started your account in the past week. I think you should consider spending a little more time here contributing by improving articles and interacting a bit more with editors like on article talk pages. You're always welcome of course, to ask questions, and feel free to add yourself as a host after you've had a few months of engagement here. Thanks, I, JethroBT drop me a line 15:19, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hey there, I know you're trying to be helpful, but I'd honestly wait on posting at the Teahouse for a while. Get to know the place before answering questions. Definitely follow the page on your watchlist and see how questions are answered. It'll all come to you in time. --McDoobAU93 21:11, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Well, I had to get a new computer because my old one decided to go to the graveyard. So that's pretty cool. My signature is messed up now, I have to install Microsoft Word 2013 to get it back to normal. Mirror Freak 14:55, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

I'm this close to going to ANI and asking for an indefinite block. Anything you can do to make the user understand that he cannot expect other editors to fix his barely intelligible edits to articles would be appreciated. --NeilN talk to me 15:42, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Can you give me a couple hours to do this User:NeilN.Mirror Freak 15:46, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. The editor means well but he has to realize his lack of proficiency in English means he will have to take an extra couple steps in order to contribute to articles. --NeilN talk to me 16:07, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
I can watch his edits for you guys. I saw that he had problems in the past so I thought I'd lend a hand to him by setting up and archive and by just helping him in general. Thanks for letting me talk to him first User:NeilNMirror Freak 16:09, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Hi again. I've noticed that you have more than one article tagged {{Working}} on the requests page, and the instructions ask that you only work on one page at a time. Also, please make sure that your copyedits are thorough; you seem to be working fast, and requesters (rightly) expect more than a lick and a promise. All the best, Miniapolis 17:51, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Copyediting feedback
Hey mirrorfreak! Thank you for helping with the copyediting, we need all the help we can get!
I made some extra copyedits to the Daybreaker article, so you should review them to see the extra things you could have tweaked. These were my changes, although if you have time you should go through them slowly, one diff at a time, to appreciate my sometimes funny edit summaries; if so, start here and work through one diff at a time.
Many of my edits were trivial things that are not really important for GA (for example FA requires that emdashes do not have spaces either side of them, but GA does not care), so don't worry that I made lots of edits! But, still you might find it interesting to look at what I changed, because some grammar changes are important.
With such a big article, it is easy to get bored with it... I did. Although I also am interested in buying the whole album now, just to listen to it!
Thanks! --Demiurge1000 (talk) 20:49, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

While I agree with the underlying sentiment of your message here, in that this user's edits were wholly inappropriate, it's better to ignore and move on... I've already blocked, so take the moral high ground (i.e., WP:NPA) and don't feed the trolls. Thanks. --Kinu t/c 20:16, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
User:Kinu, I apologize. I let my anger get the best of me. After I left that message, I got off of Wikipedia and cooled down. Even now I realized that I was pretty much do the same thing that the user was doing. He was adding inappropriate things to Wikipedia so that people would see it, and I realized that my profanity is out there for people to see. I look at this as a learning lesson. Thanks for understanding my anger and not blocking me.Mirror Freak 12:15, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- No worries, and giving yourself that short break was definitely the right thing to do. I didn't block you because you certainly appear to be a constructive editor; trust me, we all make mistakes, and the key is, as you said, to learn from them. :) --Kinu t/c 22:30, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
August 2014
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Daybreaker (Architects album) does not have an edit summary. (This is especially important if reverting a new editor's changes and the new editor may not be sure why you did so!)
The edit summary appears in:
- User contributions
- Recent changes
- Watchlists
- Revision differences
- IRC channels
- Related changes
- New pages list and
- Article editing history
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! --Demiurge1000 (talk) 22:03, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
User:Demiurge1000. Is it mandatory for me to use the edit summary. I've only used those when I have a lot of time. Mirror Freak 12:28, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
- If you have time to revert other editors whose edits are not obvious vandalism, then you have time to include an edit summary explaining why. If you don't have that much time, you should not be making such reverts - save them for when you do have that much time.
- There are some places you don't need to bother with edit summaries; for example if you are working on a new draft article in your own sandbox or userspace you don't need to bother, since normally no-one will see those edits until you are ready to publish the article by moving it to WP:MAINSPACE. But, personally, I normally use edit summaries even there, just for my own reference.
- Some people think simple edits like fixing an obvious typo, which would be marked as minor edits, don't need an edit summary. I usually provide one anyway.
- Some of my edit summaries are extremely short, like "r" for reply on a talkpage or noticeboard. This takes very little time.
- Recently you have asked for additional user rights on Wikipedia at least once, and how often and how well you use edit summaries may be taken into account when administrators make decisions about your requests. Failing to provide edit summaries because of "lack of time" is unlikely to be well received.
- There's even a tool that calculates a percentage (%) of how often you use edit summaries (can you find it?), and this is sometimes presented in evidence for some types of user right requests. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 22:15, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
@Demiurge1000: Thanks for the notice. I appreciate that you took the time to let me know about this. I even went into my gadgets and set up the gadget that provides common edit summaries.Mirror Freak 12:15, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
