Officially, we're not crazy about paid editing in principle — but in practice, per Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure we're a lot more forgiving of it if it's openly declared up front than we are if it's discovered after the fact about someone who was causing problems while pretending to be a neutral party.

And strictly speaking, a WP:COI isn't a dealbreaker in and of itself, either — COI doesn't actually bar affiliated people from ever touching the article at all, but rather is meant to prevent an affiliated person from delegating themselves the right to make up their own special content and sourcing rules for their own article, such as by overriding our content policies or by vetoing other editors from making changes that the subject hasn't personally "approved". COI can come into play in a deletion if the article is truly awful, and not easily salvageable because of a lack of real RS coverage — but if the article is properly compliant with our rules about notability, neutral point of view and verifiability in reliable sources, or if its problems are relatively minor and can be fixed through the normal editing process instead of being so blatant that the article needs to be completely blown up and rebuilt from scratch instead, then a COI isn't actually the end of the world and isn't enough of a reason to force the article's deletion in and of itself.

Hope that helps a bit. Bearcat (talk) 22:16, 17 September 2015 (UTC)

@Bearcat: That's impressive, I wanted to make sure that this article meets notability, neutral point of view and verifiability at least since this article has a reliable source and I have even searched regarding notability for this firm and found that it has strong notability in Google and Bing. That would be minimum criteria to pass the WP:GNG. I thank you for your valuable advice in this case!  MONARCH Talk to me 22:34, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
I'm inclined to agree, for the record — I'm pretty sure I've even heard of this company before, and they're not even in an industry I normally follow very closely. And while I didn't really do a fully exhaustive analysis of every last word and every individual source in the entire article, from what I did see it looks to me like a pretty solid and fairly neutral and well-written article that's not likely to need more than a few relatively minor tweaks. I'll trust AFC's judgement on it, personally. Bearcat (talk) 22:43, 17 September 2015 (UTC)
@Bearcat: I have already done analysis based on references provided by the editor, the company is extensively on the mainstream news, legal advisors, professional journals etc. That would make it enough of notability to pass WP:CORP. Thanks again for your advice  MONARCH Talk to me 22:54, 17 September 2015 (UTC)

Request on 19:21:09, 21 September 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Swforney

Hello Alpha Monarch,

Thanks for your feedback. Would you clarify what needs to be done to make this article adequately referenced? There are the newspaper/magazine references at the bottom and the film was produced by KIno (not cited, does it need to be?) Would appreciate any specific information and guidance you can offer. Thanks!

Swforney (talk) 19:21, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

Request on 11:08:49, 22 September 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Marshrory

Hello Alpha Monarch!

I was wondering if you could help me out.. this page I wrote on 'Thales Electron Devices' was declined, it is only 250 words and I have included some references, not quite sure how to change it to make it appropriate for Wikipedia. I would be very grateful for any advice.

Thanks in advance

Marshrory (talk) 11:08, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

Marshrory (talk) 11:08, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Marshrory- The article was declined due to lack of notability, The article didn't meet minimum criteria of WP:GNG and WP:CORP. If you want to make appropriate article then you should take a look at WP:YFA, WP:RS and WP:MOS. If you provide relevant sources from mainstream sites, such as popular online newspapers, Government websites, authored novel or magazine then your article is applicable to Wikipedia which means that will have to be written in an encyclopaedic tone. Since your article's reference didn't have any notable source, So you may need to search for proper prevalent sources, When you have done with these appropriate changes you can re-submit the article back to review queue.  MONARCH Talk to me 15:50, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

Ok Thank you very much for your help, are Acedemic Papers and Conference Proceedings counted as proper prevalent sources? Marshrory

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Negombo Municipal Council, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page United Democratic Front. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

India-Cook Island relations Approved by you deleted by another

Hi. It is really disappointing fact that I want to share with you. "India-Cook Island relations ", I made this page and its introduction part (20% part of the article) was using a pdf by the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India. I contested the deletion as follows: Contested deletion

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because...

   1. after getting the page through an external wiki tool at click here https://tools.wmflabs.org/copyvios/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=India%E2%80%93Cook+Islands+relations&oldid=&action=search&use_engine=1&use_links=1

My article is proved to be 30% doubted and 70% safely referenced.

   2. there is very minuscule amount of information available on embassies especially of that of Cook Islands. So official but publicly available document had to be referred. I modestly challenge anybody to provide any link which gives such though official but publicly available and extremely crucial information esp for the emigrants from Cook islands.
   3. Foreign relations articles require very authentic data and concise too. The data is same as available on page http://www.indianembassy.hu/?page_id=206.
   4. The pdf concerns with the publicly available copy, completely legitimate to use, ipso-facto. The same kind of pdfs released by the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India are already there from a very long time where they are corroborated as links on page "Foreign_relations_of_Albania" . Kindly look into that too.

I do not have any issue to delete this article but whosoever will delete it, I request thou to think only once where else other than Wikipedia would anybody find such publicly available but official and not in one search available data. Think of the condition of a migrant. There is absolutely no copyright violation as the document is publicly available, though I myself try to restrain from using pdfs and would have done that if any alternate website was there. --hey_pal (Friend.hey)(talk) 09:12, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

Kindly look into the deleted article again, I believe it can survive with rest of the information. Thank you very muchhey_pal (Friend.hey)(talk) 10:11, 25 September 2015 (UTC).

A document being "publicly available" does not mean that parts of its contents can be copied into Wikipedia. All of the articles about international relations where you have copy-pasted from other sources, will need to be re-written in your own words (or deleted). Arthur goes shopping (talk) 10:15, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
Friend.hey I think you should contact the deleted administrator and deal with this issue.  MONARCH Talk to me 12:03, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.sundaytimes.lk/150913/news/megapolis-authority-to-redesign-kandy-galle-trincomalee-jaffna-towns-164069.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. (ec) MONARCH, the notice was about removing a CSD tag from an article you have created. If the copyright issues are addressed or are seen as unwarranted, the admin looking over the article can remove the tag (which was done in this case).
I see you have created a number of articles but if you are still working on an article and clearing up issues that might cause an editor to tag it with a CSD, it would be wise to keep the article in Draft or User space until you are positive that it meets Wikipedia criteria. I'm glad this was resolved. Liz Read! Talk! 13:58, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

Hürriyet Daily News

Hello Alpha Monarch. I notice that in August 2015, you’ve placed three tags above article Hürriyet Daily News, tags about reorganization, citations for verification (in general) and citations for verification concerning biographical information. This sounds very vague to me. Also on Talk page you have not made more clear what you are missing in the article. Please, be more precise in your criticism on this article, otherwise your colleagues will not be able to improve the article. Why should the article be reorganized? Why don’t you reorganize it yourself? If you doubt specific bits of information in the article, I guess you’d better place a [citation needed] tag on that bit of information. --Corriebertus (talk) 15:33, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

@Corriebertus: My god, I have forgotten to add [citation needed] tags. I'll make sure to add this tag right away, Thanks for pointing it out.  MONARCH Talk to me 15:43, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

Never move an article to draft space so you can create the same article on top of it. That is page hijacking. You improve a current article, not claim you created yourself. Bgwhite (talk) 05:44, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

Bgwhite The article which was moved to draft has the wrong title and with no references, I think you should merge the history from an old article to the article I created from mainspace. I was not trying to hijack the article, I was trying to correct the references and title by providing sources from the Monaragala Divisional Secretariat. I suggest you to revert the redirect and merge the history from Mŏṇarāgala as I don't have the administrative power to merge the history from old article to Monaragala which has updated contents alongside the references. You might want to compare both of them, You'll notice there are signifcant difference in terms of words, added with references, corrected titles and geography locations.  MONARCH Talk to me 05:58, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
Bgwhite I have requested for history merge on Monaragala. I may need to wait for someone to merge it.  MONARCH Talk to me 06:17, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
You don't just "delete" an article because of whatever perceived issues. There are plenty of articles about places with no references. It may not have been your intention, but the end result was page hijacking. What you do is edit the current article... just like anyone does to improve any article.
As for the name. Oi vey, that is a hornet's nest. Anything dealing with diacritics and when to use primary/simplified transliterations is messy and fully of warring. Numerous blocks and bans have been handed out over this. A "minor" dust up happened this month at Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics#Undiscussed moves of articles. What to do... State you case on the talk page. Show where "Monaragala" is the common name. Ping SpacemanSpiff and Sitush. They deal primarily with India related material. Mention my name and this is what I told you to do. If they agree, then Spaceman or I can do a move. Bgwhite (talk) 06:25, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
I reverted you hist merge request because this involves changing the title. As I mentioned, changing names can be fraught with danger. Better to do this the safe way. Bgwhite (talk) 06:30, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
@Bgwhite: But the main title Mŏṇarāgala is incorrect as there are no such a thing 'Mŏṇarāgala' in Sri Lanka this may mislead readers. What would you suggest to do? Also i have updated the contents on Monaragala what should do to that? This topic is not related to India, Its related to Sri Lanka. MONARCH Talk to me 06:46, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
I know Sri Lanka is not India, but Tamil is spoken in both spots. WikiProject Sri Lanka is dead, so WikiProject India people is the next best place. Just add to Mŏṇarāgala and request a page move like I mentioned above. Bgwhite (talk) 06:59, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
Monaragala is the correct spelling but what Alpha Monarch did - moving the exiting article to draft space and creating a new article - was wrong. He has done this before, simply to score another hit in his list of articles created.--obi2canibetalk contr 14:27, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
I requested history merge from old page which was discarded by revert changes. Now i have put this page on redirect to avoid further misleads.  MONARCH Talk to me 05:31, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
Alpha Monarch If you don't want to follow other people's advice, that is your prerogative. There are 12,000 articles with the histmerge template and odds are, your request will not be acted upon.
Obi2canibe I'm assuming you are referring to Saidulla Marikkar Yes, I'm troubled by that. Once is just not knowing. Second time.... Bgwhite (talk) 06:11, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
Bgwhite I created this article Monaragala because in this Monaragala District didn't have direct link to this article Monaragala and I tried to move from Draft to the Main article Monaragala, It's asking me to request an administrator assistant to move to that page because this article Monaragala was previously deleted. I had no other choice but to copy-paste from old contents with references that abide by policies and guidelines and on Saidulla Marikkar in the first place I can't find his name which came up in blank article until Obi2canibe found S. M. Marikkar and requested histmerge. I have also told Obi2canibe that I haven't seen the S. M. Marikkar you might want to check this reminder. Where I thanked him for reminding me on this similar subject, But this situation is not same as Monaragala where I can't move the page to the corrected title because of page was previously deleted. I usually use the page move option when a target page is blank without contents. I understand your refusal for histmerge this situation is a bit complicated, but i need your or any administrator help to fix this issue. Any help is appreciated.  MONARCH Talk to me 06:36, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
It doesn't matter what you did or didn't think at this point... what you did with Monaragala was wrong. Never remove a page. You should have edited Mŏṇarāgala and requested a move.
Again, changing a title to with/without accents/diacritics gets people blocked and creates arguments. I gave you a link to a long discussion about somebody moving articles without discussion.
I have told you already, twice, what to do. Read above. Bgwhite (talk) 06:50, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
Bgwhite I understood what you said. I'd rather stay away from page move even if the article exists. But your criticism is very useful where I'm able to learn what I have done. At this point, I'm better off discussing this issue with administrator than acting on my own that has the similar situation as this. Your comment is very encouraged. Sometimes we also do make mistakes like what I did to Saidulla Marikkar. Blocking someone for their mistakes is not fair treatment, But encouraging them is a proper way like you did to me. Thank you  MONARCH Talk to me 07:00, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

16:04:51, 26 September 2015 review of submission by Chrispasuk

Thanks for this. Please give me a little guidance. I have cited every significant study on this text, in Thai and English, over the past century. I have a footnote on almost every paragraph. So I am a little puzzled why this is inadequate and hence not sure what I should revise.

I have two guesses on what I should improve. 1) In the Background section, it could be clearer that the story of why the laws were revised in 1805 all comes from the preface by King Rama I. 2) There is a recent bibliographical essay in Thai which could be added to the footnotes of the Publication section.

Please give me some help on this. Chrispasuk (talk) 16:04, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi Chrispasuk Thanks for submitting this article for review, unfortunately i noticed that the article you created didn't have direct link to the independent sources which you had simply used the references as text without any independent sources, You might want to check the beginner's references here and if you're new here you might take look at WP:YFA and WP:MOS  MONARCH Talk to me 07:02, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Your statement "the article you created didn't have direct link to the independent sources which you had simply used the references as text without any independent sources" is very hard to understand. I'm using one of the referencing systems that is described on the pages your directed me to, and is used by a very high proportion of Wikipedia pages. Chrispasuk You should take look here: WP:REFB and you need to provide reliable sources in order to verify the notability or the significance of claim. References are provided in each sentence of the paragraph which is to demonstrate of content's reliability. Once you have provided references that links to sites such as independent online magazines, government websites, authored novel or online newspapers even websites that are not associated with this article. You must make sure to write these articles in your own words, you cannot copy-paste it directly from the cited source, If you did copy-paste that would result in speedy deletion which may be deleted by an administrator for copyright infringement. Thus i want to make sure that there are no copypaste from the cited sources, so that I'm able to ensure once the article is approved through this review process and will not be deleted when it's on the mainspace.  MONARCH Talk to me 14:46, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Ok, now I understand. You're nervous. I'm not new to this. I'm a great admirer of Wikipedia and I contribute only when I think I might know more about a subject than almost anyone else in the English-speaking world. I have put up two previous sites: Khun Chang Khun Phaen, Yuan Phai. In both cases, I was the first person to translate these texts into English, and I used the 5-10 years of research on the translation to create the site. Please look at the reception of those sites by the administrators and by the users. This site is the same.

There's no cut-and-paste. Please try searching the net to find anything to cut-and-paste on the Three Seals Law.

I have amended the draft, adding some pagination, and correcting a few mistakes. The references include all the important sources in Thai, English, and French. The formatting of the references follows standard Wikipedia practice. If you wish to reject again, please be specific, don't just refer me to beginner instructions I read 10 years ago.

Chrispasuk (talk) 15:52, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Chrispasuk Unfortunately, The article still fails to meet WP:GNG at least since there are no links were provided where i have given you the WP:REFB. Even if you have done translation from outside of Wikipedia English, you must provide the sources highlighting on each paragraph and I'm not “nervous”, i want to ensure that the article does meet the policies and guidelines otherwise in the down road the article may be get deleted by an administrator for failure to cite reliable sources. Regarding your statement that you said you were not new here, But I have taken a look at your account which you have made lesser than 140 edits thereby it's not a significant contribution to Wikipedia, Usually the users who have been in Wikipedia for over 8 years, they'd have at least 20,000 edits by now.
Theoretically you're still new here as you haven't made any significant contributions, In fact if you already knew the basic policies then your article may have been accepted a long time ago without further rejections. In regards to your article Yuan Phai, In that article it has ISBN code number which is provided by authored books, But you haven't done that in the Draft:Three Seals Law, where there are no links to ISBN or independent sources. Once you've fixed this issue, you can re-submit this article for review.  MONARCH Talk to me 16:41, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Chrispasuk Any reviewers, administrators or editors may do this. It's traditional of Wikipedia where everyone does edit and clear up the articles also they'd improve it. I don't think it's necessary to consult TLSuda at this moment. Once you have done with fixing up your references, you can re-submit it, In the mainspace the administrators and editors will take a look at your article to verify the contents of yours. At this time, I'm encouraging you to provide the sources from where did you take these contents. Once you have done with citing the sources, you can contact me again and will take measure to publish it as a live article.  MONARCH Talk to me 16:50, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi DragonflySixtyseven, Thanks for patrolling my user pages and I really appreciate your contribution in page patrolling. WHY I GAVE THAT PDF LINK TO ARTHUR? Very Imp, Please read what I wrote to you on your talk page thread: "India-Cook Island relations Approved by you deleted by another"--

Thank you very muchhey_pal I was just pleading to tell you that bro, my article has been marked for deletion which you accepted from "draft" to "robust" few days back. You can copy one line from an article that is outside of Wikipedia, But you can't copy the entire paragraph from a directly cited source which will automatically put this on copyvio detection. For example, you can copy one line like this "Dave was born in New York City, is employed at Walmart Corp” and then after copying one line you must write in your own words which will avoid your copy-paste from being detected, This is usually common in Wikipedia's editing. I don't think copying one line is a copyvio, But at least the article MUST NOT be in the radar of copyvio detector, In some case if you write your own article and then someone copy-pasted your article to their own self-published source, then we may knew the publication date and this is actually a backward copy, For example right now Mahinda Rajapaksa article has 85.2% of suspected copyright violation which the backward copy was in: http://yalithmahinda.com/index.php/relations/ accordingly it means that site has actually copied from Wikipedia and pasted on to their own self-published sites.
You must understand that Wikipedia takes copyright infringement very seriously which they put the article deletion. Like I managed to stop deleting the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development it was because I have done major reforms within the striped time when the article was tagged for deletion as I have no authority to remove tag, because it must be done by someone who is not the creator. For your article, you have failed to appear when the article was detected by copyvio and put up for deletion and you have also been warned for copyvio in your talk page which you actually wiped it out. I don't personally take revenge from you, As an editor I regularly review, delete and improve articles and I've got to ensure that each of articles which I review it must abide by policies and guidelines. If you wish to have your article restored you may contact the administrator who deleted your article and you must ensure that the article doesn't appear on copyvio detector radar. Long as you follow the policies you're good to go ahead with editing!  MONARCH Talk to me 04:33, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. I could also find the workarounds but I didn't know that it could be done after getting deletion tagged(it was first time). You can erase this whole messy thread as it looks unkempt and shabby because of being lengthy and selective. In CookIsland's nobody understands that the data available was minuscule and technical, like, "A visited B in place C on date D signed MoU E for F", I can't change A,B,C,D,E,F etc.
Anyways, hope to have some fruitful talks with you in future and some help when needed. Enjoy wiki, a platform to serve humanity and spread happiness.hey_pal (Friend.hey)(talk) 05:33, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
@Friend.hey: – For your Cook Islands-India Relation, I have approved it because it cited with the reliable sources, But I have to admit that I have failed to verify for copyvio, You can't copy-paste the materials from PDF because it's copyrighted PDF that means you have no right to publish anywhere including Wikipedia, In case if you wrote the article and someone makes similar article related to this topic with copy-paste to his/her PDF, Then you can't get accused because the creation date is contrasted. Therefore, this Wikipedia's copyvio system is not a blind but it is very annoying because copyright infringement policy is very strict and enforceable by editors and admins. Consequently, you must make sure to avoid such a situation in the future before submitting your article to article for creation. Anyway, you're welcome to ask any query regarding new articles or editing policies.  MONARCH Talk to me 06:24, 29 September 2015 (UTC)

COI

As you know, we don't actually forbid conflict of interest or WP:Autobiographies, although they are strongly discouraged. The main thing is that since the Orange Moody paid editing fiasco, paid editing must be declared under our terms and conditions. Paid editing includes employees and external PR companies.

Often COI is explicitly or implicitly declared ("our company" or "I wrote the webpage") and the like. Otherwise it comes down to the pattern of edits. The vast majority of articles about products and companies are written by editors with few or no other unrelated edits, and it's usually reasonable to ask the question, that's not an accusation.

  • User names that are the same as a company or product are indefinitely blocked on sight, although names like Mary at Widgets limited are allowed because they effectively declare a COI but imply an individual account.
  • If a user, when prompted, declares a COI, they have met that condition, and can continue to edit as long as they meet our other requirements. In practice, I add such editors to my watchlist so that I can keep them on the straight and narrow and ensure that hard facts are there as well as the usual "this is what we do".
  • If the {{Uw-paid1}} is ignored, my policy so far (and we are on new territory here) is to revert edits until the question is answered, since the template says you should not edit otherwise. If they use a "real" name, it's sometimes comes up on the company "meet the team" page.
  • If there is an implausible denial, so far I've suggested that they edit a different topic since they have no reason to edit the contentious one. If they persist, I think I would take that as a confirmed and undeclared COI and block, although I haven't got that far.

Although some leeway is given on notability at AFC, it's still a requirement to be transparent about COI. I hope this explains at least my thinking, let me know if I've confused you further Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:39, 29 September 2015 (UTC)

Jimfbleak For the editors who involved in COI, can they able to submit a draft like this one American Energy Partners, LP (I have approved this draft through AfC)? This article involved in COI where the editor had received payments to write this article also she declared this in the talk page of American Energy Partners, LP. In my past experience, I have witnessed one editor who wrote this Spiro Koleka has not declared the COI where it resulted in arguments, Such as this situation should be raised at WP:COIN? Your explanation in COI has taught me to how to deal with COI.  MONARCH Talk to me 14:16, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
American Energy Partners, LP looks fine to me, and the declaration meets our guidelines. Yes, I forgot WP:COIN, that's the right way to go if a COI is denied.
Jimfbleak Thanks for your explanation. Somewhat I find this hash because the COI may be opposed by the author who gets accused, But I will always seek for an administrator assistance in an event if COI declaration is denied.  MONARCH Talk to me 14:44, 29 September 2015 (UTC)

Tropical Cyclone Naming

Hi, I like to query this RV that you performed using Huggle. The edit in question was restoring a statement that said what the next name to be used within the Atlantic basin is, when all the rest of the lists of names have the next name to be used within the basin is... statement applied to them. I will also note that I had opened a talk page discussion on this issue at the time of your reversion and I would prefer to see that brought to its conclusion before anymore RV's take place.Jason Rees (talk) 18:44, 30 September 2015 (UTC)

Jason Rees You haven't provided cited source pertaining to your content. I suspected this edit as vandalism since there were no references in this regard. You may need to add cited source in order to avoid being detected as vandalism.  MONARCH Talk to me 18:51, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
The problem there is im not sure that there is a reference to say what the next name is for most of the basins and personally i think it would be very cumbersome to update the reference each and every time the name changes say two or three times a week in one basin. I will note though that the names are verifiable per the sources listed on the tables but they are not all updated in real time.Jason Rees (talk) 19:00, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
@Jason Rees: I understood, But per as the policies and guidelines any contents which are unsourced will be enforceable by editors, administrators, and reviewers. I suggest you not to add this contents as this is vulnerable to readers where they won't able to find the demonstrate of this content, Thus this may lead to edit wars that who disagrees with this content. And this will result in arguments that would seriously harm your account records as good standing.  MONARCH Talk to me 19:20, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
Hang on dont get me wrong here personally im in favour of removing them and have been for a while, as I think its a waste of editors time to keep updating them etc. However, its a controversial area which is why its been brought up on the talk page and I would rather see them all go at once with a consensus rather than just one and no consensus.Jason Rees (talk) 20:19, 30 September 2015 (UTC)

Austin P. McKenzie formerly Austin McKenzie (actor) submission review

Hi Alpha Monarch. On September 23 my submission for Draft:Austin P. McKenzie was declined as under WP:TOOSOON as the actor does not yet satisfy popularity fame, and he also didn't yet play lead role(s) in the movies. After doing some additional research, I was able to include new sources to provide further evidence that the person in question is currently playing a lead role on a Broadway musical and just completed the shooting of his first feature-film lead role; while I agree his popularity fame is still in early stages, his performance has received outstanding reviews and the deaf community has welcomed the Deaf West Theatre broadway production of Spring Awakening as it is the first time a musical is performed in ASL and spoken English at the same time on Broadway. I consider this to be a big step forward towards diversity and inclusion.

As a new wikipedia contributor, I'm struggling to understand what is the right balance for the creation of new articles about living people. Since the review time is quite long, I wonder if you could take a look at the sources I added to Draft:Austin P. McKenzie, specially the ones from The New York Times and the Washington Post, and let me know if this is still not enough to show notability before I re-submit the article for review. As a side note, In order to find news articles, I've been using Bing and Google to search News that include "Austin McKenzie" AND "Spring Awakening".

Thanks in advance neokbron (talk) 06:51, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Neokbron Thank you for your contribution to this draft, As per WP:NACTOR he hasn't yet played significance role in movies or at least having a large fan base is a minimum requirement. But if you're able to provide me a verified account of his social networks here in this discussion, I'll able to determine his popularity among of these fan base. If they're enough of significance, I'll re-estabilsh new route to move this draft to the mainspace on behalf of your account.  MONARCH Talk to me 16:26, 1 October 2015 (UTC)
MONARCH thanks for the quick reply, I really appreciate it. As I was going thru your comments, the sentence "He hasn't yet played significance role in movies or at least having a large fan base" caught my attention. If I'm reading it correctly, does it mean that to met the notability criteria, an actor must play a lead role on a main-stream feature film? It seems a little too extreme as there may be extremely notable stage actors / directors / writers that might not have any film related work and only theatrical credits.
That being said, Austin's social media profiles (Instagram & Twitter) are not verified, however his followers base has been growing and a significant number of verified profiles follow him. Among the verified people that follow him are Marlee Matlin and Rosie, in addition to Academy Award and Golden Globe winners, Emmi and Tony nominees, and people from the entertainment industry such as stage actors, screen actors, screenwriters, directors and producers. neokbron (talk) 20:17, 1 October 2015 (UTC)
@Neokbron: Let me tell you that – There are dozen of actors and actress around the world and they had no lead role played in the movies and many of them didn't have Wiki articles because they simply lacked notability and didn't have a successive career because of their appearance in movies are infrequent. If an actor/actress played more than 4-5 movies (despite whether they held lead role or not) they may get eligible to have a Wikipedia article per as WP:NACTOR, For example like this one Sanjit De Silva, he played more in 8 movies, directed one movies and appeared in 12 television series that would give him enough of notability. The social media links you have given it seems he doesn't have enough of fan base it has to be over 10K that would give him the minimum fan base (not large).
There might be risks if I accept this review submission and in the down road the article may get deleted by an administrator because it failing to meet the minimum criteria of WP:NACTOR. I would suggest you to wait at least sometime until he gets enough of popularity or notability. That is only the way to ensure the article must not be deleted.  MONARCH Talk to me 07:03, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Hey MONARCH, I completely understand where you are coming from. Thanks a lot for the explanation. Per you request, I will wait until his fan base is reaches a more significant number before I ping you again on this matter. As a side note, could you tell me what's the behavior expected from a Wikipedia contributor while running into poorly sourced articles, where notability is not met or when the article is bias towards an specific topic? neokbron (talk) 20:07, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi

Hi alpha monarch, regarding your added information regarding the controversies most of it has no reliability hence i find it senseless. JemmaMD (talk) 17:22, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

JemmaMD If you don't find any reliability regarding this controversy then I suggest you to remove the “Controversies” section instead of writing it “No Controversies were noted during his tenure.” it makes absolutely nonsense.  MONARCH Talk to me 17:27, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi

Hi alpha monach, regarding the controversies area, we are just trying to be neutral. Additional information will be added. But basing on wikipedia guideline

Achieving what the Wikipedia community understands as neutrality means carefully and critically analyzing a variety of reliable sources and then attempting to convey to the reader the information contained in them fairly, proportionately, and as far as possible without bias. Wikipedia aims to describe disputes, but not engage in them JemmaMD (talk) 17:27, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for the suggestion. Will do so. :) JemmaMD (talk) 17:29, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Under-occupancy penalty

All four edits were evidently legitimate (copyedits to typos and adding extra info from the linked articles). There is no way they could be viewed as vandalism. Are you just set on blocking others from editing this page? 194.75.171.106 (talk) 13:07, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

What do you mean by “legitimate”? There are no legitimate edits were made they were simply vandalised by blanking it out without giving a proper summary.  MONARCH Talk to me 13:10, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Alpha Monarch, please check again. This is the revert you made. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 13:14, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
@Arthur goes shopping: You mean this one:

Due to the refugee crisis in Europe at the moment David Cameron has announced that all council properties in the UK with bedrooms which are not in use will be required to take in a refugee for the period of 6 months. Plans are in place for all 20,000 refugees to be put into the council accommodation under a temporary shared lease with current residence by Christmas 2015. {{citation needed|date=September 2015}}

Are you sure this edit isn't vandalism for blanking it out without giving summary reasons?  MONARCH Talk to me 13:18, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Yes I'm sure. And you reverted three other edits at the same time. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 13:20, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
1. You reverted three other edits as well - why?
2. That was an uncited (and slightly crazy) claim added by other unregistered editor who provided no edit summary. Edit summaries are optional, and a lack of one does not constitute vandalism. The removal was explained more fully on the Talk Page. Unlike your reverts. You may want to review WP policy.
194.75.171.106 (talk) 13:21, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
1. Whoever removes section blanking considered as vandalism as you haven't given a summary reason on why you have blanked it.
2. I noticed it's uncited, The tag {{citation needed}} was added last month and normally users don't blank out the section without giving a reason. If this persisted this may be detected as vandalism as there are no “reasons” were given for blanking.  MONARCH Talk to me 13:34, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
... starting with Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons:
"Contentious material about living persons ... that is unsourced or poorly sourced – whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable – should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion". David Cameron is a living person. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 13:25, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
@Arthur goes shopping: This article doesn't have bio about David Cameron. This is enforceable if this was written within David Cameron's article.  MONARCH Talk to me 13:34, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
No, that is obvious nonsense.
And even if it weren't obviously nonsense, the policy page that I just suggested you read, specifically says that the policy applies to "any Wikipedia page". That's in the first sentence. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 13:45, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

Arthur goes shopping "Editors must take particular care when adding information about living persons to any Wikipedia page" If you're referring to that one it makes senses, One thing concerns me that the content stated “David Cameron has announced” doesn't make it look "biographical" content of David Cameron as he mentioned this word and which means he makes official statement behalf of the Government's decision and it's not about his own personality, But i agree with the removal of content as it didn't have any credible references in this regard.  MONARCH Talk to me 13:58, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

There's zero point putting (citation needed) on statements that are fairly easy to check are wrong. This content was wrong.
Also, it wasn't 'section blanking', it was removing a paragraph of vandalism that was inserted.
Still no comment on your trigger happy reverting of the other edits?
194.75.171.106 (talk) 14:40, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
@194.75.171.106: First the content is simply blanked, Before you do the section blanking you should take look here: WP:NOBLANKING and illegitimate blanking, Blanking of content is often consider vandalism as most of IP users persists the blanking section without giving reason. Secondly you wrote the reason of blanking on the talk page where most of the members from the anti-vandalism doesn't take look at the talk page before making reverts. Thirdly you have made a reasonable blanking because there are no credible sources which can be considered as legitimate editing as apart of failing to field a credible source. Others of your edits are fine.  MONARCH Talk to me 15:09, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
The first of those is an essay, not policy, and the second says "significant content removals are usually not considered to be vandalism where the reason for the removal of the content is readily apparent by examination of the content itself", which precisely applies in this case. I have no idea what "Blanking of content is often consider vandalism as most of IP users persists the blanking section without giving reason" is supposed to mean.
This was an inappropriate use of your rollback right. Where editors show a pattern of inappropriate use of the right, the right can be removed in order to avoid any further unfortunate mistakes. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 15:48, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Arthur goes shopping Technically, In Wikipedia most readers (not users) chose to remove the contents via IP Address where it results in blanking the section without giving a reason, If you're a regular page patroller you may notice there are lot of IP editors example like this case, The editing quality ended as unconstructive edit where they choose to write nonsense things like saying random words instead of targetting the subject of the article.
I assume that you've not been involved in this kind of area, this can cause a lot of mistakes in the use of rollback rights and reviewer rights where it makes multiple reverts related to the same editor and I don't use these rights way too inappropriately, If anyone notice my double or triple reverts, they're free to ping me on why have done double/triple reverts and I'd be happy to give a reason for it or revert back their respective edits. Sometimes there are systemic errors in this Rollback feature where it makes more than one reverts instead of selected part which I have witnessed this from other editors and this have also happened to me as well. Removing the rollback rights will not change this reverting errors where there is a feature called “undo” this acts similar way as the Rollbacker rights, but it's simpler.  MONARCH Talk to me 16:19, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
I'm not sure what your first paragraph means.
If there are systemic errors in the Rollback feature then removing the Rollback right from your Wikipedia user account will ensure that you do not in future unintentionally make inappropriate edits due to these systemic errors. "Undo" does not revert multiple edits with a single click, which Rollback does and which you used it for in this instance. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 16:34, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

Arthur goes shopping, I have no time in explaining this IP editing stuff, You might need to learn more from page patrolling experience this can be very harsh to fight vandalism and once you have experienced this area you'll know how do the IP editors work, they're mostly here only to tear up the articles. In additional to the Undo feature, I did mention it's “simple” than rollback which it means that you need to have more than 1 revisions selected that can result in multiple reverts.  MONARCH Talk to me 16:49, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

You also say above "If anyone notice my double or triple reverts, they're free to ping me on why have done double/triple reverts and I'd be happy to give a reason for it". But the editor you reverted asked three separate times why you reverted all four of his edits, and no you did not provide a reason for it.
I suggest you are more careful in future with the use of your rollback right.
As for "You might need to learn more", I notice you have a habit of taking this tone with editors who have much more Wikipedia experience than you do. I have several times your number of edits and have been editing nearly twice as long. Further up this talk page you say "this will result in arguments that would seriously harm your account records as good standing" to an editor who has been editing since 2006. I do not think it's his good standing that is at risk here.
And as for your assumptions about unregistered editors, you link Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers in your edit notice here, and I believe you could do better at following it. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 17:02, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Arthur goes shopping, I understand that you have higher numbers of edits than me, But if you clearly read my user page I have been editing Wikipedia since 2007 via anonymity and i don't mean to insult or hurt your feelings regarding this case, But I'm trying to elaborate this situation here and which you still don't understand what I try to say and it's very hard for me to explain to you if you don't understand it. I'd be careful with Rollback, But it can be unfortunate situations which often happens to everyone when there are more than one reverts and this have resulted in dramas... I thank you for your advice on the use of rollback rights.  MONARCH Talk to me 17:30, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
No problem, and thank you for the interesting discussion. I am off on a weekend shopping excursion now, so probably won't be online again until Monday. Happy editing. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 17:45, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

Stratford University

Hi Alpha Monarch, I see that you have recently removed claims that Stratford University is for-profit. If you have thoughts on this, could you please discuss them on the Talk:Stratford University page where I have recently opened a section?Dialectric (talk) 05:32, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

Dialectric The claims made regarding for-profit on Stratford University article there were no references mentioned in this case which is a violation of WP:NPOV, As result of the violation, I decided to revert it and it was again reverted back by the same IP user and I reverted back to the constructive revision, because it simply didn't give supporting citation pertaining to the claims made by the IP editor. The same section was again reverted by VirginiaTechGuy. If there are any citation to demonstrate this claims, I'll revert back to the original edits by the IP user.  MONARCH Talk to me 06:49, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. I've added a few sources on the talk page, and am waiting to see if Virginia Tech Guy has anything to say before making a change to the article.Dialectric (talk) 16:21, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
Dialectric – We have to ensure that the edits meet WP:NOPV, Otherwise it will cause troublesome which could result in edit warring. It would be the best to discuss with other editors and administrators at WP:NPOVN, Seeking for advice from other editors is essential in order to avoid further conflicts with WP:NPOV.  MONARCH Talk to me 16:43, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
There was already an edit war going on, which I was not involved in. There is no need to discuss the addition of referenced content with administrators. If there are disagreements, let's work them out on the article talk page.Dialectric (talk) 16:55, 3 October 2015 (UTC)

Your AfC review of Three Seals Law

Hi. I just came across the above exchange regarding your AfC review of the Three Seals Law article. Frankly, I don't quite understand either why you failed the submission. This was the references section of the article when you reviewed it. It was cited to thirteen independent published secondary scholarly sources. These are among the most reliable possible sources, and should have been more than enough to build a GA, let alone establish any claim of notability. I'm sure that as a regular AfC reviewer you are aware that offline sources, when properly cited, are no less important than those available online, and often are in fact more reliable. If I misunderstood something please let me know. Thanks. --Paul_012 (talk) 22:57, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. I am requesting a re-review on Austin P. McKenzie. You rejected this page due to notability, but McKenzie, as a star on a broadway play, as well as starring in a movie with notable people such as Skylar Austin, Liam James, and Sarah Stelle. In addition, he has now been nominated for multiple awards, and won some. As a successful broadway star, it only makes sense that he has a wikipedia page. ips0202 00:15, 4 January 2016 (UTC)ISP 1/3/16

Hi! --

All the information on Lee Horwin on this page/draft is correct and I supplied links to newstories on line and even a Wikepedia page where Lee Horwin is mentioned, but I still can't figure out what I am doing wrong or what needs to be done to finish this correctly so that it can be published. Please advise.

Thanks. WALTER WILLISON
