I am currently logged onto this account on two devices. Eventually I will be logged out automatically. I have no record of the password I used to create the account six months ago. This means that not only am I unable to change the password, I am not able to attach an email address to this account. Is there any way forward from here? Aside from my trying everything I can think of I might have used as a password while I can? almost-true 15:00, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
- You can add an email address and change it that way. Praxidicae (talk) 15:27, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
- unfortunately when I click Add An Email Address I get a message saying 'You must log in again to verify that you are Almost-true.' almost-true 15:33, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
- In which case someone would need permissions to manually update this and verify you are you. If you have always edited from the same IP address a CheckUser may be able to do this, and then not sure what if any level could manually update an email address (maybe an Administrators could but more likely need a higher level if it's possible at all). I would ask again using {{Admin help}} as an admin should be able to advise if its possible and if so what to do. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:07, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
- update see Help:Logging_in#What_if_I_forget_the_password? looks like if this is still current you will probably just have to create a new account. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:12, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
- KylieTastic A checkuser won't be helpful since no admins, CU or even crats have access to that part of userinfo nor do they have the ability to change it. Praxidicae (talk) 16:17, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

- @Boleyn: On the talk page it says quite clearly, and legitimately, with the correct template, that the page is a translation of the German wiki article - how do you think I would be able to do inline cites when I merely translated that page? 217.42.195.189 (talk) 16:45, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hello, Almost-true, so you have no idea if the information you've added is completely made up? That's a real concern. Translation is great, but without even giving an original source, it's not very useful and could mislead. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 19:49, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
- My translation includes the German sources. Have I trusted the German wikipedia editors? Yes. In doing so, have I followed English wikipedia convention? Yes. By doing so have I improved the English wikipedia? Yes. If you've a problem with policy, don't take it out on me. 217.42.195.189 (talk) 08:21, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
