AfD nomination of L.A.D SOC
[edit]
I have nominated L.A.D SOC, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/L.A.D SOC. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page L.A.D SOC has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bfacebook\.com (links: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=63388340109).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 12:58, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 16:36, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
LAD Soc - page deletion
[edit]Hi, I have deleted this article as it's subject is unlikely to meet the wikipedia criteria for notability. Wikipedia is not a collection of everything - and especially not a blog or vehicle for promotion. However, I am satisfied this is not a hoax, as such a society was approved by the Union at Newcastle, and referred back by the Union executive at York - with the suggestion that it be named 'Men's Society'; and clarify it's aims.
I know this will be a disappointment to you. I will be happy to copy the details to a sub-page of your own user page if that is helpful. Ultimately though, while it can remain as a temporary page being worked on it - it will eventually be deleted - even in your own userspace.
The article may be suitable for inclusion if it were to have reputable references to it by uninvolved sources; from (say) the national press, BBC, etc. In the meantime, good luck with your society. I would suggest building a facebook group, or myspace. Kbthompson (talk) 12:57, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
I would just like to thank you for your response. i'm afraid i was rather confused at first and didn't realize that any old user could be in discussion over the page, thus momentarily i had my doubts about the whole site and its systems of administration. However now i am aware that you are the only admin i have been in contact with my faith in the all knowledgeable wikipedia has been thoroughly restored!
all the best

- The system works through a sort of 'controlled anarchy' - administrators have no special status above other editors - we just get to clean up the mess left behind. Wikipedia works through consensus; and other editors were not wrong in indicating to you that there is a strong consensus about notability for inclusion (or, in this case exclusion) of articles. Don't worry that this article has been deleted, you are still very welcome to contribute to other articles in the encyclopaedia. Kbthompson (talk) 16:46, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
