Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Aliciajem, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Younes jemni, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! 220 of Borg 09:34, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you.--220 of Borg 09:44, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Content removal/alteration

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm 220 of Borg. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Kim Hyuk without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page.
exclamation mark  You can't just change a page under one name (Kim Hyuk) to another (Younes jemni) by changing the text! Please read the information about starting your first article. 220 of Borg 10:10, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. I have to ask you to explain your edits. You have gone to the 1997 World Judo Championships, removed Hyuk and replaced him with Younes jemni. Unfortunately this appears to be wrong, as [this source] says Hyuk was -65 kg at the '1997-20TH MENS World Championship' "no mention of 'Younes'. You have then gone to other judo championships and changed them too! You cannot do this without a reason and a wp:reliable source.
Please stop and explain or you edits will be reverted. (Too late! :-\ ) --220 of Borg 10:36, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
