Re: Church of Google

[edit]

Sure thing. As you can see from the article's deletion log, it's been deleted on two occassions. In my case, I was acting under the criteria for speedy deletion, a limited set of circumstances under which administrators can delete pages "on sight" -- the particular criterion applied in this case was A7, which governs articles that don't apparently assert the notability of their subjects. You may get some benefit from seeing Wikipedia:Why was my page deleted? If you feel that the group would satisfy guidelines in WP:BIO or WP:ORG, you might be able to convince me of that. Otherwise, if you feel I'm being unreasonable, you're free to make a request at deletion review. Thanks for your time. Luna Santin 23:19, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hm... maybe, but I'm not yet convinced. That article doesn't make any reference to a "Church of Google," and appeared to be posing a "what if?" scenario to make a point, more than anything. While there might well be such a philosophy, unless it's been clearly mentioned by mainstream sources of some sort, any Wikipedia article on the matter is likely going to be original research. Anything else I should see? Luna Santin 02:34, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. In my case, it still seems like original research. Since I don't imagine you'll be convinced by that, I'd encourage you to take your case to deletion review for community consensus. Respectfully, Luna Santin 11:43, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
