WikiProject Investment

[edit]

Hey there! I just re-launched the WikiProject Investment.

The site has been fully revamped and updated and I would like to invite you the project.

Feel free to check out the project and ping me if you have any questions.

I'd like to invite you to join the Investment WikiProject. There are a lot of Investment related articles on Wikipedia that could use a little attention, and I hope this project can help organize an effort to improve them. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help get this project off the ground and a few Investment pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles. Thanks!

Cheers! WikiEditCrunch (talk) 19:40, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help with article?

[edit]

Hi,

I noticed you're a member of the Wikipedia Private Equity Task Force. I wonder if you'd be willing to help me out by reviewing Draft: Fifth Wall Ventures for publication. It's a VC-firm focused on real estate with about $200m under management.

Although I am an experienced Wikipedia editor and aways try to abide by the five pillars, in this case I have a conflict of interest (disclosed on the Talk page), so Wikipedia policy requires that all my work be reviewed by an independent editor before it's published. I'd be glad to do any additional work you think the article requires.

Thanks for considering this!

A page you started (Urban Design Associates) has been reviewed!

[edit]

Thanks for creating Urban Design Associates, AliceStanley11!

Wikipedia editor Edaham just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Just reviewed your article Urban Design Associates, Thank you for the contribution. You might want to check the awards section. I think the awards are only relevant in helping to establish context for the reader. Some of them might not be suitable for inclusion if the awards themselves aren't particularly notable or if they don't have lasting or significant impact on the industry with which they are associated. I've also taken out a section on key people and left a message in the summary which reads, "This section seems unnecessary and only has a primary source. It would be better to write some prose about influential members if they have contributed significantly enough to be mentioned in independent reliable sources." In summary I'd like to see more prose in this article and less lists of achievements, which make it look like a resume or corporate portfolio. Remember that we are an encyclopedia and our readers want to know about the subject impact the subject has had. We shouldn't write as if we are contractors boasting to clients.

To reply, leave a comment on Edaham's talk page.

Edaham (talk) 08:45, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the comments Edaham I will review and see how best to clean up and make more concise to reflect the volume and quality of awards without listing them all. AliceStanley11 (talk) 16:36, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewing changes to AIG

[edit]

Hi Alice, I proposed a couple of edits to the AIG article on the talk page here and here, but I've been unable to get any traction. I saw you're a member of WP:FINANCE. Do you have time to take a look? I'd greatly appreciate it.--FacultiesIntact (talk) 18:57, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Article about VC

[edit]

Hi Alice,

I've noticed you belong to the Wikipedia Private Equity task force and have worked on articles on this subject. I've written a draft article about a prominent VC, User:BC1278/sandbox/Mo_Koyfmanand I wonder if you might have time to review it? I am an experienced Wikipedia editor, and have created many articles, but I have a COI here as a paid consultant to the subject. So, as per WP: COI, all my work must be reviewed and brought live by an independent editor.

I am more than willing to do as much additional work on the draft as you think is required.

Thanks for considering this request!

(I noted that you expressed some doubts about the importance of this subject, and I agree.) Don't call me shorely (talk) 14:36, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello AliceStanley11. I noticed you added an author's wikilink using [[]]. I agree that adding author links is useful. The only thing I improved in your edit is that you had not yet learned about the |author-link1= parameter. If the ref has a template then you can do it that way as I did here. If there is no template then [[]] is the only way however. Invasive Spices (talk) 29 March 2022 (UTC)
