RTÉ Pulse
Alex,
Thank you for your speedy response to the vandalism on the RTÉ Pulse wiki, could you tell me what is being done? I saw the message posted on the user 79.97.57.31 talk page about contacting the ISP NTL Ireland, however I would like to know if the RTÉ Pulse page will be protected from further abuse from this user?

- The IP Address was blocked. The page does not need protection as it has very low vandalism levels at this time. -- Alexf(talk)
Hello
please can you look link in the end of Azita Bijol Hedayati page deleted and check out that she is really painter which she had several exhibitions so far and that her works are really unique. In the site you can find more links to informations about her work and also you can look them.I believe she deserves at least few words on wikipedia and maybe a link which could show her works. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pmashina (talk • contribs) 15:53, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
- A painter with "unique" work is not enough. It was properly deleted as it failed notability as written. Specifically WP:ARTIST. It seems to me, from your request, that you want to do some advertising for this artist. Please understand Wikipedia is not a place for promotion. -- Alexf(talk) 02:01, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi, 2019 Pacific hurricane season is certainly premature with a good dose of WP:Crystal but it's not, IMHO, a G3 hoax. It would be helpful if you would kindly reinstate the page to allow this discussion to come to a conclusion. Bridgeplayer (talk) 20:57, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of User talk archives
Quick question ... it looks like someone was successful in getting their user talkpage archives deleted (as an example), although this is typically against policy. They were marked as G7 (one editor) yet they didn't seem to meet that ... was I missing something, or are my eyes just fuzzy this morning? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:57, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
- Oh? Did I screw up? I thought (understood) on a quick read of the request that it was for renamed pages left overs. Now I'm confused. Please confirm on what you see and if wrong I'll undelete. Thanks! -- Alexf(talk) 12:01, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Andreas Neocleous & Co LLC deletion
Hi Alexf
My name is Lefteris and today I have started writting an article regarding Andreas_Neocleous_&_Co_LLC I am really trying to make it comply with all wikipedia rules. I was trying to find some more references to enrich the article and make it to look a bit more encyclopaedic, but I found out that it was deleted. Can you help me find out what was that think that made the article look like an advertisiment and made administrators to delete it? I was reading similar articles in wikipedia before start writting.
I really appreciate it, thank you in advance for you time.

- The article was deleted for advertising and lack of assertion of notability. You say you were surprised, yet you had been advised of the problems with the article and that it was slated for deletion here. The editors that notified you clearly explained the reasons to you. Is the company notable? Can you show reliable references? Please read WP:CORP and WP:BFAQ for guidance. If you think you can work on it please let me know and I will userfy it for you. Have a good day. -- Alexf(talk) 15:56, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Deletion of Reza Udhin
Hi,
I recently put up an article on Wiki for the musician and producer REZA UDHIN.
It appears that the article was speedy deleted according to rule A7.(I can't work out how to post the link for you, but it was deleted today).
Maybe I posted it on the wrong section but I would like to get an article up for Mr Udhin, as I believe he is an accomplished and extremely successful musician and producer and deserves a page on Wiki, so I and other fans of his work and press can access it for immediate information.
He was the founder member of the band INERTIA who have been in existance for over 18 years and have toured throughout the World, with over 11 releases to their name. He is also a member of the legendary Rock group KILLING JOKE.
It appears all the other members of this band have their Wiki pages apart from Reza, it also appears that other members of INERTIA have Wiki pages apart from the man started it all.
He also runs an extremely successful record label and has produced and remixed countless bands and artists. Which is why I think he derserves a spot on Wiki.
If you could re-instate the page or tell me how to post the page (if I have done it incorrectly, it would be highly appreciated.
Thank You.

- The article was removed due to lack of assertion of notability. You were informed here of the problems with it before deletion. Just because a band exists does not make it notable. If you have reliable sources, and after reading the aforementioned links you think it has merit, I could userfy it for you. Please remember to sign your posts with four tildes. Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 16:01, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Mammothfest page deletion
Hi Alexf, I have just had a page I put up which is about a festival going on here, I don't really see how it is advertising when I wasn't going out of my way to get links in or mention the bands playing or anything.
If you can clarify what difference this is to any of the other festival pages that would be great for future notice.
Kind regards, James
- It read like an ad. Even if it wasn't, and I restored it, it would have to be removed for lack of assertion of notability and verifiability (see A7). There were no references or any reliable sources, just one from their own website. It said that it is a new, currently ongoing festival. Does it have any history? Does it have any writings in newspapers or other references? As per any other festival article, they do not count as any article has to live on its own merits. -- Alexf(talk) 12:03, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Okay so if I referenced magazines, newspapers and when it has some history (as in after the official event) then it would be okay to write it up on Wikipedia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rambo86 (talk • contribs) 13:47, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- It might. Read Notability (events) and Notability (organizations) for details on what's needed. -- Alexf(talk) 14:05, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
why did you delete my article about Asanja.com?
Hello,
I noticed that you removed my article about an African social network, asanja.com.
I trully do not understand why, there are quite a few other pages about social sites with less registered members on Wikipedia. Did you delete it because it is about an African social network and you believe there are not enough Africans on the web that may be interested in the article?
I read your page about the potential reasons why you deleted my article:
1) I'm not affiliated with the site 2) The article is not advertisement, and I'm not against the site either. I just believe that it is good that Africans are building websites that are quite popular. 3) Asanja has over 100,000 members, there are many other social sites that have a page on Wikipedia that have far less members. 4) I used a structure very similar to other pages. 5) I provided a reference (I can add more but it'll take me time to find good ones)
Please reconsider the deletetion

- The deletion was explained in the summary and clearly in the two heads-up messages you received in your Talk page, placed by the editor that nominated it. The article had problems. You were advised. Instead of asking and engaging the nominating editor to see what to do better, you immediately recreated the same article. It was nominated again, you were informed again and it was deleted again by another admin. I did not delete it because of any bias or consideration of enough readership as you stated. Wikipedia is not censored. It was simply done following policy, especially lack of assertion of notability (see also Notability (web)). -- Alexf(talk) 12:13, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of 4TROOPS page
Hello. You have deleted my page about the ban 4TROOPS. They are signed to a major label - Sony Masterworks - and are currently have a one hour television special airing nationally on PBS. I did not mention the PBS broadcast in my article. Would the article be more relevant if I did? They have also gotten press coverage on national outlets including ABC Nightline, The View, Good Morning America, CNN, Parade Magazine, and People Magazine.

- Please read Wikipedia:Your first article, especially the Things to avoid and And be careful about... sections. Ask other editors that have written or collaborated in successful similar articles to take a look and offer advice; (I am not a copy editor so I will not be available). Above all, research and respond to any tag placed in the article you are writing (I see it already has gathered one concern, as of this writing). Also read the fundamental principles of Wikipedia. Speedy Deletion of CVISION Technologies
I had recently wrote an article for CVISION Technologies. I was just wondering why the page was deleted. I am very up to date in the technology software sector and I notice that a lot of other companies that are similar to cvision has their own wiki page and I had wanted to create a similar page for cvision. Do you think you can let me know what things I could change in the wiki page so that it will not violate any of the rules because I truly believe that cvision is deserving of their own wiki page. Kyeung123 (talk) 14:23, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'm surprised you asked that when you were informed about the problems with the article three different times, by different editors in your Talk Page, here, here and here. Furthermore, you were answered this question and pointed to pages that will help you in the comments by User talk:A More Perfect Onion/Archive 1, specifically in Item #88 CVISION. To make it easier, I will point you again to pages you should read. I recommend reviewing Your First Article, notability guideline for companies, and about reliable sources. Also about the notability requirements for companies and the issues with advertising and why it is not welcome. To address your point about other similar articles, please understand that they are immaterial and have no relevance. Each article must live on its own merits. Can you write about this company? Yes, if it is notable and you are not promoting it. Lastly, next time please be so kind as to read the notice at the top of this edit page and provide a red link as requested to make it easier to find. Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 16:13, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

- Sorry but I'm not about to read any more blogs (I already subscribe to too many feeds and am behind in my reading). In any case, it is not a matter of what I would say after reading a blog or watching a video as both are self-published sources and not acceptable as reliable sources. The article was deleted because it read like advertising, as indicated to you in your talk page by the nominating editor. The links provided have enough information to show you what the problem was. To help you as yuy requested I would suggest you read Your First Article and the Five Pillars of Wikipedia. This should give you an idea. Regards. -- Alexf(talk) 13:26, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

- Yes and it had nothing to do with the deletion reason. Did you read about no advertising and the G11 speedy deletion reason? Did you also read the notice at the top of this page asking for a red link and to please sign your posts? Please read those documents, then if you want, we can discuss further. Notice: userfying an article, even though it's possible, it will not be done to an IP address. Consider getting an account if you require it. -- Alexf(talk) 20:17, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
I read the suggested information, and am confident I am not violating any of these guidelines. Alex, consider reading the expert report with numerous references at http://www.abigo.se/en/products/sarosvamp/sorbact/expertrapp.html , then comapare to the page which was deleted. They are the same. Sorbact(R) is not just a product, it is a method, mechanism, and paradigm shift in the way wounds are treated. The page which was deleted was an educational peice on the Sorbact(R) technology, which is certainly novel and noteworthy considering its impact in the healthcare field. my account was deleted, so I sign like this right ````
- The mentioned website, being the maker of the product is a self-published primary source, therefore not acceptable as not reliable. Furthermore the article name violates the Manual of Style with respect to trademarks. Lastly, accounts are not deleted, so you are mistaken in your assertion. To sign your posts, please your four tildes (~~~~). -- Alexf(talk) 23:45, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
Alex, the website was for you to easily find the listed credible references. Your assumption of unreliability is incorrect. If you again visit the webpage, you will see all authors and references which I have included below, including the prestigious Journal of Wound Care (JWC):
Sorbact® JWC Ljung Å, Yanagisawa, Wadström T, Journal of Wound Care vol 5; no 4; April 2006.
Using the principle of hydrophobic interaction to bind and remove wound bacteria.
“A hydrophobic dressing is a non-allergic, non-toxic alternative for reducing the microbial load of open wounds without enhancing nosocomial spread, and can reduce the use of antibiotics. Hydrophobic microorganisms bind to the dressing, preferably in a humid environment, and removed with it. They multiply to quite a low extent when absorbed in the dressing, and may not produce extracellular toxins and enzymes. Mechanisms of resistance to hydrophobic interaction have not been described.”

Restoration?
Hello. Could you please restore the article Richard ysulat which you deleted to a page in my userspace? It would be really great. I was thinking about what language is the article in, but you deleted the article and I can't think about it anymore. Kubek15 write/sign 18:48, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- It was pure vandalism in some Philippine language (Filipino or Tagalog maybe). I did a rough translation in Google Trans and it was nothing worth keeping. What do you want it for? (I wonder) -- Alexf(talk) 20:31, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, OK. I just wondered in what language was it in, but you told it :) Kubek15 write/sign 11:20, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Sarah Katherine Trimble
Sarah Katherine Trimble is a current high school student who is very serious about becoming a future rapper. She has entered many local and national rap contests and faired incredibly well in all of them, so well in fact that she has been contacted by multiple agents who have attempted to sign her to minor contracts. Sarah Katherine strongly believes in education and therefore has turned down every offer to sign a contract because she wants to finish her education first. Although she still hopes and aspires to get signed to a record label one day and eventually have a world wide release of an album. The creation of a wikipedia page about her would greatly help her accomplish her dreams of getting signed onto a record label and so I am kindly asking you to allow this page to continue to exist. I am currently lacking links because most of the agents that have contacted her are unknown, and the rap competitions she has entered are not on the web she learned about them from friends and family members. It would be of great help if you could allow this page to remain on wikipedia. Thank you. (Aluke4 (talk) 23:20, 21 June 2010 (UTC)) Aluke4

Contested CSD
Please see Talk:New Mexico State Road 448 for discussion. Article was wrongfully marked as copyvio, which I SWEAR that is not true. That site you posted appears to be a Wikipedia mirror. ANDROS1337 00:05, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
- Could be. I'm not denying it. I checked the text of the site and it matched the copyvio claim in the article in question. Therefore CSD approved. It could be a chicken and egg question. I see you have the text of the article in your linked page. If you re-write some and seriously document the article, then it should be no problem. -- Alexf(talk) 01:14, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

RocketRoute
RocketRoute.com is a valid business in the same way as Jeppessen - people will be interested to understand about the business, what it does and its history. Please add back the page.
Many thanks in advance Kurt Lyall —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kurt Rocket (talk • contribs) 16:15, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
- Oh I don't doubt it may be a "valid business", whatever that means, but if you had read the notice placed in your Talk Page by the nominating editor, or the deletion summary afterwards, the issue had nothing to do with "validity" (an alien concept to Wikipedia), but with notability, especially failing the requirements under WP:ORG and WP:WEB. Please read the rules under those pages. You may also be interested in the Business FAQ and the conflict of interest pages, that may be of help to you. Have a good day. -- Alexf(talk) 16:55, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Since this article has been repeatedly recreated and CSD'd 5 times, could you WP:SALT it so we don't have to go through this ad nauseum? Thanks, GregJackP Boomer! 23:58, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of Vishay Precision Group
Vishay Precision Group I understand how I infringed on Wikipedia's policies. I believe that a few deletions can quickly resolve the problem. May I be allowed to edit it to your policies or can you delete the portions that made you delete it? I believe there was a list of specifications that would be considered advertising. But the rest of the summary of the company should be unbiased and straightforward.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for the understanding. Zuri125 (talk) 12:37, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- The article was duly deleted as advertising as indeed it was. Even if you modified it to sound less like an ad, it still would fail the notability requirements for companies, as it had no reliable sources and especially because you indeed say the company "was launched on June 1, 2010", hardly time to become notable. Please read the business FAQ as it might be of help to you. -- Alexf(talk) 13:52, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi Alex,
I see your point. However, although "Vishay Precision Group" was launched on June 1, it is splitting off from Vishay Intertechnology, a publically traded Fortune 1000 company founded in 1962. Precision Group is not a new company; the original company is just splitting off into two seperate components. Precision Group will soon also be publically traded (on NYSE) starting on July 6. The "Vishay" trademark has been around for almost 50 years, so I would argue that it is quite notable.
Let me make a comparison: if you go to the Qualcomm wiki page, the bottom of the corporate history lists Flarion Technologies, which is now simply a subsiduary of Qualcomm. How does this subsiduary have a "notable" wiki, while a publically traded company with roots from a company with 50 years of standing is not considered notable?
Please reconsider? Thanks, Zuri125 (talk) 07:15, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

deletion of page on Kirti Tsenshab Rinpoche
Please note that I am the author of the article on kalachakranet.org which you assumed violated copyright as Wiki page on Kirti Tsenshab Rinpoche. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to login to Wikipeadia every day, so I could not respond earlier to the message on my page. I would just like to say that the deletion of the page was a bit of a silly action, because Rudyh01 is my username, and my real name is Rudy Harderwijk, you can find me on the list of names of the advisory team - as the last name and webmaster of the kalachakranet.org site; see http://kalachakranet.org/ikn_purpose.html , the second table from the top. I hope this clears up the assumed copyright issue as a mistake, and perhaps the page can be restored? Love & clear light, Rudy Harderwijk - alias rudyh01
- Then you should read about donating copyrighted materials. Also please read about conflicts of interest, which you are freely admitting to. The article needs proper independent reliable sources and proper citations. Please be advised that we cannot accept original research. -- Alexf(talk) 21:27, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Oskarova Fobija
Dear Alex,
do you really think that Oskarova Fobija is not a significant synth-pop band? Maybe you didn't hear about them but who can hear about all bands ever existed? Did you research a little about the subject before its delition? Maybe I am not a right person to write an Wikipedia entry about the subject but I just cannot beleive that Wikipedia doesn't have a page about Oskarova Fobija and tried to help about it. I don't ask you to un-delite my article. I am just asking myself: "How can they still don't have an antry about this subject?"
Best Wishes —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.46.216.151 (talk) 05:07, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
- The article simply failed the notability requirements for musicians. Notability does not necessarily depend on things like fame, importance, popularity, or being "significant" as you put it. If you can write an article and cite verifiable reliable sources, then it might have a place. -- Alexf(talk) 11:27, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for reviewing my new entry about Marc Aryan. You wanted speedy deletion for the entry.I want to know how you decided my entry was related to me just looking at my nickname and an internationally known (as seen in references) artist is not notable just you dont know about him/her.I also want to know if you are a wikipedia administrator or a conributor!(who just delates other peoples contibutions). Deletion of Buchanko
The page Buchanko previously created by me was no way of a violation as it is.It holds current value as to state who is under certain nicknames.Wikipedia holds information, and i stated out the information necessary to exclude any possible misunderstandings. In addition,it does NOT only hold information regarding me,but the whole Buchanko family, moreover it was never meant to promote or a myspace page, >:( , and i provided no information relating to that, so what gives?! Please do reply... BUCHANKO (talk) 10:18, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
- The article was speedy deleted under A7 (Article about a real person, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject). It did not have any sourcing and read like original research which is not acceptable. Also had a conflict of interest. I've no idea what you are talking about promotion or myspace as it was not deleted for that reason, even though a social network would not be an acceptable source. -- Alexf(talk) 10:32, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
- Like what resources would be even possible here? How can you image any resources on the subject? Please do give an example... BUCHANKO (talk) 14:03, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
- Please read bout the rules for notability. Wikipedia is not a dictionary, nor a directory, so a term or word by itself won't easily do. You could try Wiktionary. -- Alexf(talk) 22:34, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
