I redirected Galahad Lager to Aldi because it's a brand produced specially for Aldi. It seems highly useful to include a redirect (and some text on Aldi's page, which I haven't added yet because I didn't find a good source) because people might type "Galahad Lager" into wikipedia--I know I FREQUENTLY type beer and other product names into wikipedia just to see what will come up. I apologize I did not leave a detailed explanation when I created the redirect...I was a bit irked because I had written a lengthy explanation in the deletion discussion, but the article was speedily deleted before I could post my comment. I thus decided to be WP:Bold. I would still like to see the redirect recreated but I do not want to start an edit war. That is why I am posting here! Thanks! Cazort (talk) 14:33, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- I see your point, but given that the article was speedied after a short AfD, and as a totally different name for a redirect, it seemed unplausible. I am willing to restore if it is warranted. Just not sure at this point that it makes sense to have it. If you can show it makes sense I'll restore it, although there would be no guarantees another editor might tag it as it already happenned. Cheers. -- Alexf(talk) 16:58, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Block needed
Hi! You blocked this IP more than a year ago (4th of April) for a period of 1 year. Judging by the recent edits from this IP, I think any warnings are futile and another 1-year block would be the most appropriate solution. You want to volunteer? --Piz d'Es-Cha (talk) 19:29, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- Blocked. Please remember the faster way, and the proper place to report is at AIV. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 23:04, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
- I've noticed that directly approaching the person who gave this person a long block in the past is easier. You are less likely to simply give another warning, or a 1-week block, which other administrators sometimes do (ignoring the IP's history). I've rarely seen an AIV report develop into anything more than a short-term block. Thanks for handling this one! --Piz d'Es-Cha (talk) 09:59, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Article deletion
Hi Alexf,
I was just wondering why my article has been deleted? I read through the guidelines and I thought I was doing everything correctly, so I'm not sure what to fix. Three8six.com is significant because it fosters social networking ties specifically in volusia county and there isn't any other website in the area that does that. Please help me. Here is the link to my deleted article: http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Three8six.com&action=edit&redlink=1
Kiravk Kiravk (talk) 18:14, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- As the notices in your Talk page indicate, the article was deleted for advertising (G11) and then twice for lack of notability for inclusion in the encyclopedia (A7). I looked again and see that there is no real independent assertion of notability for inclusion. Specifically, please read the Notability (organizations and companies) page to get an idea of what is required. Your reason that "fosters social networking ties" is irrelevant to an encyclopedia. Specifically, please read the statement: "An organization is generally considered notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources". Can you provide reliable and verifiable sources to show this? -- Alexf(talk) 19:04, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Reversion
Hi, you undid my reversion of vandalism, http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Princess_Charlotte_of_W%C3%BCrttemberg&diff=next&oldid=287861074 , could you please take a look at it and restore unless I'm missing something? Check the title of the pics and correlate with the subject of the article. I apologize in advance if I'm confused. You did delete a hoax article by the same vandal. Drawn Some (talk) 21:28, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. My fault. Can't tell one duchess from another. I checked other interwiki versions to understand which picture is correct. Thanks for letting me know the error. Cheers. -- Alexf(talk) 21:42, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- No, it's fine, it was a very elaborate hoax with multiple changes to several articles and the creation of two articles, several pic swaps, that's why I didn't just reverse you, wanted to be sure myself. Drawn Some (talk) 23:18, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Meazza
I'm the owner of the copyright of my web site www.maxmeazza.com so it's obvious that we took the biography from the official web site so I can't understand why the page MAX MEAZZA has been deleted thanks Massimo Meazza (Max Meazza) maxmeazza.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.117.37.222 (talk) 09:49, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Your message uncovers a few issues. Let's tackle the copyright issue first. Just because you say you own the website and therefore the copyright (you say, but we cannot know as your signature, or lack thereof, points to an IP address, not a specific user), it does not mean it is freely distributable and can be posted anywhere. Does your website specifically say if publishes its content under a GFDL license? Please read Donating copyrighted materials to learn how to donate material to Wikipedia. If you are unclear on the issues of copyrights, maybe the Copyright FAQ page may be of help. Next, let's talk about the article: Regardless of the copyright issues mentioned, as it was it would have been deleted under A7 clause of Criteria for speedy deletion for lack of notability, or probably under criteria G11 as promotional or advertising. To understand Wikipedia's rules of notability, please read WP:BIO and WP:MUSIC. Next, you should understand that your message shows conflict of interest issues and that autobiographies are strongly discouraged. I know this is long winded but your message has many issues and it is hard to explain them all in a couple of short sentences. Lastly please remember to start new messages with a sub-header, instead of tagging along into somebody else's unrelated message, and to sign your posts in Talk by adding four tildes at the end. Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 12:02, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Deleted Page Joe Giglio
Hi Alex! I was just wondering why my page for Joe Giglio was deleted! I understand why you might think the article was unverified. I have a few articles here written by other sources about the subject of my page.
http://allshoremedia.live.subhub.com/articles/20090420_1
You can also find a newspaper article on the show's website...www.foxsports1310.com
Thank you for taking the time to look this over...I hope that you find the article and the subject to be worth un-deleting!
CharlesWFinady (talk) 17:59, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- The notice in your talk page explains that this has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Please read the Notability (people) guidelines to understand what is required. Just because somebody has a radio program somewhere, it does not automatically become notable for an encyclopedia. If you still think the person does meet the requirements, I'd be happy to userfy the article for you to work on it. -- Alexf(talk) 13:16, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
If you can userfy the page, please do. Thank you. CharlesWFinady (talk) 17:54, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Blocked my account why?
I submitted some images in which the rights belong to me. On a couple of these images I released the rights, and on a couple I accidentally skipped the step, but almost immediately went back to correct my mistake, but yet the images were removed anyway, even the ones I released the rights to were removed. Now my account has been temp banned. I'm sorry, but I don't understand the reasoning behind this. Can I please get an explanation to this, so I can avoid making this mistake in the future, and/or prevent you from perceiving it as such?
Thanks
--Steve406sbc (talk) 13:04, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- Images were improperly licensed. Most are evident screengrabs. You were warned repeatedly and given a final warning informing you of the issues and that you'd be blocked if you continued. Instead of responding to this matter, you uploaded more images with improper licensing. Wikipedia takes copyright issues very seriously. The temporary block stands as we need to protect the integrity of the project. If you want to contest the block, you have all your rights to do so, please follow the directions in your talk page on how to use the unblock request template, and an uninvolved admin will make a ruling, usually within the same day. If not, just wait two days, which you can use to read our copyrights policy so you can understand what is required. Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 13:10, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, they were all screengrabs actually, but Were they screengrabs of my own photographs or video that I own the rights to, or were they screengrabs of some one elses work? Other than pure assumption, I'm not sure how you would come to a conclusion either way.
- You're "assuming" the latter correct? Steve406sbc (talk) 14:55, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- One more point regarding my being warned repeatedly; As you know, these few photographs were all submitted by me within a very short period of time, and as a result I was not aware of these warnings. It seems as though I would have been given a reasonable amount of time to become aware of them. When I finally noticed that one of the photographs had been reverted, I figured that it was just done by some random member who was messing with me, because he didn't like the image. I didn't know it was done by some one from the site. By the time I put everything together my account was already temp banned.
- Perhaps a better policy would be to notify people of such things by email, and temporarily ban their account until they have responded to the email. The offenders response to the email would be proof that he/she acknowledges their offense, at which time a decision could be made as to lift the ban or to keep it in effect. To sustain a ban over something a person is not aware of doesn't make much sense. And to ban some one over an "assumption" makes even less sense. This is all in my humble opinion of course :) Steve406sbc (talk) 15:16, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Apologies
I apologize, That's just where the link on the Ip's talk page took me. --Skater (talk) 12:02, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
- No need. IP has been added to the watchlist as their 1-year block expires today. -- Alexf(talk) 12:35, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Trust me, knowing the people at my school you will end up blocking them again. --Skater (talk) 16:59, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi - thanks for reviewing this - just wondering why you think this is a common misspelling (aside from that was what the original creator used). Google search for that exact phrase shows 9 hits, versus the 37,000 hits for the correct spelling. Just wondering if I missed checking something. Thanks. JCutter (talk) 12:53, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- No special insight or anything. I thought I could do such a misspelling myself. IOW it was not outrageously different and redirects are cheap. Feel free to disagree and re-list if you wish. -- Alexf(talk) 14:08, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks - tried one more time with details on the talk page. If declined again I'll leave it as-is. JCutter (talk) 23:29, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi. What probably happened here is that someone pasted in a section of text from ro.wiki, but initially it was just a one-line stub in English by me. Would you be able to restore the version prior to that insertion? - Biruitorul Talk 15:11, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Hello Alex! I have a question!
Hello Alex! I am a russian-speaking girl, so I am not really sure what happened with my two articles I created here. One of them is already deleted, as I understand. Both of them are about my family history and I translated them personally from russian into english. So I have only sources in russian language. I guess that is not enough? Besides, these articles exist in Russian Wikipedia. How can I get my deleted page back Budzco (http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Budzco&action=edit&redlink=1, 11:46, 4 May 2009 Alexf (talk | contribs) deleted "Budzco" (A7: Article about an eligible subject, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject)) and what should I do with the article Enikeev? (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Enikeev) Hope to hear from you soon, sincerely Lina --Lina Pina (talk) 11:20, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- Lina, Budzco was deleted as said in the comments, and in the note you got in your talk page for lack of references and assertion of notability. Sources in Russian may be OK, but may be challenged by an other editor, as this article was when nominated for CSD. Enikeev is currently under AfD, so you should comment there. -- Alexf(talk) 12:34, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
Templates HS111, HS112
Please undelete these templates; I'm revamping the lists of Hornbostel-Sachs musical instrument classification; half the pages I've been working on will be messed up completely with these templates missing. This particular list is quite complicated and needs these kind of templates to work. Give me a chance to finish up the project before you start throwing it in the trash. Check this page to see how it's supposed to work List of chordophones by Hornbostel-Sachs number
Thank you kindly for your consideration.

Speedy Deletion
Hi Alexf, you deleted the page I created for Matt Keating (musician). I've had a chance to read through your article on why some articles might be nominated, and also through the section on notability on Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion.
I can see why notability came up as an issue on my page. Establishing notability has been, and obviously remains to be, one of my problem areas when it comes to editing.
To try and resolve this issue for Matt Keating (musician) I've compiled a list of websites that attest to the notability of "Matt Keating (musician)":
- Allmusic Matt Keating Overview
- Matt Keating Bio & Press
- Blog Critics Music Review of Matt Keating
- MSN Music Review of Matt Keating's Work
I can see the further need to incorporate these pages into the article that I initially created.
Or, in your opinion, would it be better for me to create a new article entirely? Anyways, I look forward to your consideration of my inquiry.

Can you please restore this article as notable based on this, this, this, this, this, and this? Chubbles (talk) 15:03, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
- Done. Please go and improve the article. No guarantees another editor might tag it for deletion. -- Alexf(talk) 10:37, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

- Read about the rules for notability, and specifically about groups to find out what is required for an article in Wikipedia. Please remember to sign your posts in Talk by adding four tildes at the end. Thank you. -- Alexf(talk) 20:41, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Mysteryplane (talk) 20:49, 25 May 2009 (UTC) ok, i read those two articles, and my article fits that criteria, I just haven't added the sources yet... can we work on this, i think it is a genuinely appropriate topic.
or, perhaps can it be marked as a stub so that moderators will know that there is more work to be done on it? Mysteryplane (talk) 20:51, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- Not a stub, as it is definitely a case for CSD, as was tagged and deleted. If you can assert notability under the rules pointed to you, I could userfy the article for you to work on. After you think it is compliant, you can ask an established editor to take a look at it, or post it anew. No guarantees that any other editor might find it against the rules and tag it for deletion,. -- Alexf(talk) 21:04, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Read This Alex
Alright, first of all you have no right to delete my aticle simply becuase you think it is "not important".
The rules of wikipedia that allow you to delete are in cases of spam, copyright or any laws that make it ILLEGAL
for me to right about. Many people asked me that i should put up an aritcle about this actor because he is famous
in the East and even in the States. So next time you want to delete an article, please think twice.
Freedom4Us (talk) 13:12, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- I think you may have misread the rules of Wikipedia. I have no idea which article you are talking about as you have not provided a red link to it as requested in the instructions on top of the edit page, so I can't review the action. As per "importance", Wikipedia does not care what you or I consider important. It cares about notability and providing reliable sources. You might want to read about it before making your comments in the future. We like to have new editors, but as all other editors, myself included, we have to follow the rules. -- Alexf(talk) 15:09, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Um did you take out the article or did wikipedia? Did it it say "Wikipedia" deleted this page or did it say Alexf did? Listen, i dont want to be rude or anything, im sure you probably didnt hear about the person i did the article and by the way his name is George Khabbaz. So please, i am trying to make this article DO NOT delete it. Thank you, enjoy your day.
- Would you please do me a favor and post your responses below the previous comment? As for the article, you still did not provide a redlink as requested. My deletion log is quite active, so it is hard to find a specific unknown entry unless you provide a link. As per your comments, it is not a question of if I "heard" of the subject but it is a question of asserting notability. I do not delete articles willy-nilly but following deletion policy. If you do not agree with policy, please post into ANI or DRV and make your comments heard. This is not the place for policy complaints. Have a good day. -- Alexf(talk) 14:38, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
