February 2011

Thanks, I didn't know about the sandbox. As to the apostrophe in possessive form: Yes, you can have the apostrophe, but not the additional "s". The article currently says: "Spartacus's" - this is incorrect form and also inconsistent with the rest of the article: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/621/01/ --Anonymous —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.235.252.214 (talk) 16:49, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about the lack of signature, I'll learn. 67.235.252.214 (talk) 16:52, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you plan on staying a while, how about you create an account for yourself? Alex³ (talk) 16:54, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback and reviewer granted

[edit]

I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback correctly, and for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. Dabomb87 (talk) 03:12, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have also given you reviewer rights. See WP:REVIEWER and Help:Pending changes for more information. Regards, Dabomb87 (talk) 03:12, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks guys. This really is appreciated. Will make sure to use these powers correctly. I didn't even think I could get reviewer yet. ^w^ Alex³ (talk) 14:30, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jimmy Kimmel

[edit]

Hey Alex!

I've edited the Jimmy Kimmel page a couple of times and I'm not sure why my last edit has been removed. It's a neutral stance, the incident did indeed occur and the links I posted are not from a personal page. I even used the word "reportedly" more than once, which is true.

In the comedic genre, it's important to note that comedians are not always honest and often times use material that is not theirs. In fact, there are wiki entries about Carlos Mencia, Bill Cosby and other well known comedians who have done this in the past. This incident with Kimmel has been lighting up Twitter since Monday and is pretty well noted at this point and should be included in his page.

If you could explain this to me, I would greatly appreciate it. Have a great day:)

I have reviewed the material provided, and actually see what you are referring to, however there are certain rules to Wikipedia that prevent it from being added. You have given two "sources" shall we call them. One is a line that the next day, appeared in source two. Now to anyone it would appear that source two was referring to source one, which even I believe. However, there is the rule I was mentioning.
The rule is simply this, Wikipedia is fact, not truth. You need actual outside sources that talk about this and "allege" he stole the comment. An article from the news perhaps, though don't quote me. If you can find a news article talking about this then it would maybe be accepted, however a single tweet is not something you can use.
Please don't give up! Just find a news article and try using it as source and resubmit your edit. The worse that can happen is they decline you again. Be bold! Please see Wikipedia:Verifiability for additional information. Alex³ (talk) 20:44, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
