Hey, Alex, I'm just here to tell you why I reverted your edit that placed a lengthy list of admin staff for Gosforth High. It is just too much for an encylopedic article, however, this sort of information is more intended for a school's site. If you have any issues please leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by admins or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you. Yanksox 15:20, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can we please have a civilized discussion about this right here on your talk page? Just explain to me why that long list should stay up. Thank you, Yanksox 15:37, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Lola Griffin. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/holbycity/characters/profiles/index.shtml?content/_lola/page1/ in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Lola Griffin with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Lola Griffin with a link to the details.

Otherwise, you are encouraged to rewrite this article in your own words to avoid any copyright infringement. After you do so, you should place a {{hangon}} tag on the article page and leave a note at Talk:Lola Griffin saying you have done so. An administrator will review the new content before taking action.

It is also important that all Wikipedia articles have an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your original contributions are welcome.

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Images447.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. The Sunshine Man 10:34, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:GHS JUNIOR FINAL LOGO 72 ppi small.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GHS JUNIOR FINAL LOGO 72 ppi small.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 11:05, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Why have you blocked me!

[edit]

Hi, if you receive a message telling you to log in, that means that you are not directly targeted by the block. Without knowing what your IP is I can't be much more specific, however IPs are sometimes shared among users from the same building or Internet Service Provider. In that case, they can routinely be blocked to prevent further disruption to the projects. Users with an account are usually not affected by such blocks. I don't have an habit to block people if I can afford not to. -- lucasbfr talk 22:20, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
