cemil uylukçu[edit]

{{helpme}} What should I do to save my article "cemil uylukçu" ? Why he is not found notable and why my references are not found satisfactory ? --Alemomer (talk) 18:57, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid you will be ignored. I was treated the same way. This customer service surely fails my expectations. I would have fired them a long time ago. We might as well go our separate ways, as this is an isolated community that resists newcomers. It's so unfortunate. I am so sad. :( Codedon (talk) 19:10, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, to assert his notability, there has to be a significant coverage about him in reliable sources. His personal website doesn't qualify for this. See Wikipedia:Notability (people). Svick (talk) 19:58, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Reliable sources are independent of the subject, such as books, news articles, magazines.  fetchcomms 20:17, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Cemil Uylukçu[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Cemil Uylukçu. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cemil Uylukçu. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:09, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Further help re. Cemil Uylukçu[edit]

Re. Cemil Uylukçu

"Notability" on Wikipedia means something very specific: for inclusion, an article needs "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject".

Significant: References that are about the subject - it is in the title or chapter heading. Not passing mentions. Not directory listings. Not just any old thing that happens to have the name in it. Several of them - not just one. It must be notable.

Reliable sources: Something that is 'generally trusted' to tell the truth. A major newspaper. A factual, widely-published book. High-quality mainstream publications with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. Not blogs, not myspace. Verifiable.

Independent: Nothing written by the subject or paid-for by the subject. Not their website. Not a press-release. Not primary sources.

This is particularly important in biographies of living people. Any information that lacks appropriate references may be removed, by any user. Currently, with this article, I do not see any such sources.

I hope this information is helpful - it is nothing 'personal' in any way; these are the policies that have been decided upon by the whole community.

For more help, you can either;

  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.

The last of those is particularly useful - please try it; pop in now and say hello.  Chzz  ►  07:01, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re. your message - I don't use MSN etc, but you could talk to me live with the links above - I am in the help channel most of the time. Otherwise, you can comment in the discussion page, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cemil Uylukçu - it's OK to ask for clarification there; that's what it is for, it is a discussion.  Chzz  ►  08:29, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What I meant was, that this is a link to the live help - I am there right now, if you wish to speak to me directly.  Chzz  ►  08:31, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
