Welcome to Wikipedia!
Hey there, Alejandrocaro35! I'm glad you decided to register a new account here on Wikipedia. We're always looking for new editors to help improve the project, because believe me, there's always something to be done! Wikipedia often seems very large to newcomers (it did to me, at least), so I've put together this little guide to help you get started. I hope this helps, and as always, happy editing! Some Quick Tips

  • Don't be afraid to make mistakes - Be Bold! That's how things get done, and there is always someone around to help you out if you need it.
  • Remember to sign your posts on talk pages, like this one. You can click this button on your editing toolbar, or just type in four tildes (~~~~) That way, people know who they're talking to and who to go to if they have a question for you.
  • Take some time to read a few of the help files, especially if you're new to Wikimarkup. Knowing the basics can save a lot of time and frustration down the road. I've provided some of these pages, as well as some common policies, at right.
  • If you ever have a question, there are plenty of places to ask! You can come talk to me, add the code {{helpme|your question}} to your talk page here, post a question on the talk page of the article you have a question about, or post something on the Help Desk or Reference Desk.
  • Check out the ways to get involved below - each of these suggestions are good ways for a new editor to get involved in the Wikipedia project.
  • Most importantly, get out there and edit! Thanks again for signing on!

Speedy deletion of TubeMaster

[edit]

A tag has been placed on TubeMaster, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 17:09, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

[edit]

Hi!

You're doing great work categorising articles, but some of the categories aren't necessary. For example, Category:British singers isn't required if the article's subject is already in Category:English male singers (as an example) - this is because "English male singers" is a sub-category of "British singers", so any article in "English male singers" in automatically in "British singers" already.

September 2009

[edit]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Larbanois - Carreiro. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Alan (talk) 14:27, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Point of interest (tourism)

[edit]

The article Point of interest (tourism) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Topic too broad to be an appropriate list article, and seems to be just a useage guide.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AfD nomination of Acoustic music

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Acoustic music. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Acoustic music. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:11, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Provinces in Uruguay?

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you changed all articles about Uruguayan departments to 'provinces', with the excuse/reason that 'in correct English' things are this way. May I ask you where did you find that? Because, as far as I know, provinces and departments have nothing to do (they are pretty different ways of administration). Also, we have French departments on this wikipedia, not provinces, and many other examples containing the word "department" apply to Bolivia, Paraguay, and even Argentina, which is divided into provinces and the latter into departments. How would you justify those changes, then? Apart from that, you don't give any reliable reference or source. Even the U.S. library of Congress refers to Uruguay as being divided into departments. Please, consider undoing all those changes as soon as possible, because they are terrible mistakes. Thank you. --Góngora (Talk) 16:16, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Enrique Pichon-Rivière has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. XOR gate Inverter

[edit]

Hello Alejandro,
There has been a debate in the talk page of the inverter (NOT gate) about which is the propper term to use, it was decided that inverter is the correct term. I myself, am used to say NOT gate, but there are some written sources that argue that the inverter is not even a gate, as it does not have two inputs and that it justs changes the logic level of the input (or inverts it). Regardless, and in any case, I think probably it's best to leave the previous wording. Inverter (NOT gate) in the XOR gate article. I leave it up to you.--Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 06:30, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake, you just added the right title to the link, I missread the diff and it allready was NOT gate before. I feel dumb. I will make the edit myself to add the correct term. --Crystallizedcarbon (talk) 12:29, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stop and think

[edit]

When all your edits are getting reverted, it is time to stop and think. The rest of the world might be out to get you, but more likely your edits are not productive. Carrying on doing the same thing over and over when it is clearly being rejected by a number of other editors borders on vandalism. To begin, read WP:NOTBROKEN and don't pipe any more wikilinks until you understand it. Sorry to sound harsh, but you've been ignoring gentle hints. Lithopsian (talk) 16:17, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

[edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!
