Reverting vandalism

Hey there. Be sure you don't revert to a bad version as you did on predation. Cheers. Richard001 (talk) 20:57, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

VP bugfix

Hi, thanks a lot for fixing VandalProof. My only question ow is, where do I find the 1.3.8 bugfix release? At least, I didn't find it on the FTP server yet --Mbimmler (talk) 21:05, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

It isn't uploaded yet - it required clearance from Daniel. Ale_Jrbtalk 21:19, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I'll check back in a few days. Thanks! --Mbimmler (talk) 21:21, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
quick question, why did you re-enable VP? I disabled it until this bugfix has been released. βcommand 21:48, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
It is currently disabled using the versioning system; 1.37(61) should not be working. Please let me know if it is. Ale_Jrbtalk 21:58, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

VP

Amidaniel says: "[C]ommit the src code to the repo or email it to me If [you]'d like to build and release, [you] can be my guest" on IRC. Hopefully that answers your question. Prodego talk 04:57, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Hello. I was wondering why you described User:Jkaharper's addition of Al Sharpton to Category:Supporters of gay marriage as vandalism?

According to Al Sharpton#Gay rights, Sharpton supports gay marriage. Why is it vandalism to add him to a category of people who share the same view? — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 23:03, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

I apologise if I am wrong, however you should understand that repeatedly and quickly adding multiple, unrelated people to a category that is very open for use in vandalism in a short space of time, with no explanation of ones actions, appears like a vandal edit - especially when watching recent changes. If it is correct, feel free to re-add it. Ale_Jrbtalk 16:13, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

heh, we have both somewhat reverted unproductively here ;-) Additional apologies for posting a warning on your talkpage, I am getting tired... --Mbimmler (talk) 22:34, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Critical-Mass.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:49, 9 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rossrs (talk) 11:49, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

VandalProof Authorization

You recently authorized me for VandalProof, but I still can't access it. Calvin 1998 Talk Contribs 19:21, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

What error message do you get? Ale_Jrbtalk 21:14, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I found the problem. On Windows Vista, you must run VP "as an administrator". However, I still can't figure out how to change the VP recent patrol preferences as specified in the help manual. Calvin 1998 Talk Contribs 21:36, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Those settings only work if you are viewing the RSS recent changes mode, and that's a little buggy. It's up to you, though. You can change the feed in the file menu, under feeds. Ale_Jrbtalk 22:14, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

VandalProof

Hey - I never actually got to use my 20 minutes' or so of access :-) As I said in my application, please contact the admin Dweller to verify my reformedness since then. Please. Thanks. —TreasuryTag talk contribs 07:09, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Per my post at AN on Feb 28th about this user (formerly User:Porcupine) I can vouch for him, as I mentored him following his blocks. I've rarely (never?) seen an editor reform so well.--Dweller (talk) 10:26, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Hey, please contact the more senior VP mod User:Betacommand with regard to this issue. Thanks! Ale_Jrbtalk 21:02, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Done. I've pointed him to this discussion. --Dweller (talk) 11:58, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
At this current time I am unable to approve this user. Given the long history of disruption, I am unwilling to let such a short time counter the history that this user has, come june, without incident I will gladly re-consider. βcommand 15:35, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Red XNDeny. I have to concur with User:Betacommand due to insufficient mitigating evidence. We at Wikipedia have so many problems with unregistered-user tampering, that we dare not suffer complications from within our own WikiProject Council. Recommend continue the case of User:TreasuryTag to June per User:Betacommand. B. C. Schmerker (talk) 09:05, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Good Day

The parody religion is OK, but the Reformation of the parody is not? Of all the junk and misinformation on Wiki, this falls below the line?

If you can think of a better way to annoy Allen Thicke as he shops and grieves, then be my guest. Otherwise, let us grow in peace. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ReformedFSM (talkcontribs) 18:43, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

hey!

Hey, I am the user that created Jaguar R5. Please don't delete it, as it is needed to complete the list of Jaguar F1 cars, and I feel it could be expanded, and not just chucking it away. Many stubs have just one line in it, so I think it is unjustified that it should be deleted.

Warm Regards,

LB22 (talk to me!)Email me! 18:50, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Keep in mind that when it was tagged, there was nothing more than an infobox. A stub can be only a few sentences, but must provide useful information on the subject - it didn't. Either way, the article will be assessed by an administrator before being deleted, so if it now meets the criteria for inclusion, it will be fine! Happy editing, Ale_Jrbtalk 19:10, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

did u read it ?

About this : http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=User_talk:70.108.92.126&diff=cur .
It isnt vandalism. Did u read what I wrote or is this just another bot? 70.108.92.126 (talk) 19:36, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Removing warnings from another user's talk page for no reason, especially when that account is currently engaging in vandalism, is not allowed. Ale_Jrbtalk 19:38, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

That poster didnt vandalise. S\he added info that the bot erroneously deleted. Then momu & cfred jumped in incorrectly as well. Look @ the edits. 70.108.92.126 (talk) 19:42, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

That user has been blocked by an administrator for edit warring and adding significant amounts of content that are not backed up by a reliable source. Removing the messages on this talk page may have prevented action form being taken; this is why it is not allowed when suspicious activities are in progress. Ale_Jrbtalk 19:44, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Artemis Fowl (novel)

The article Artemis Fowl (novel) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold. It hasn't failed because it's basically a good article, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Artemis Fowl (novel) for things needed to be addressed.
