How is your ambassadorship going, anyway? Nobody but me seems to be doing the reports...tsk. -Veret (talk) 16:01, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Question about content creation and plagiarism

[edit]

Hi Steve,

I'm in Dr. Turner's Communication Theory and Frameworks class and I've started working in my sandbox, collecting information on my topic Symbolic Convergence Theory. I understand that wikipedia is supposed to be written as an encyclopedia article, so what are the precautions in terms of plagiarism. I feel like in order to succinctly describe my topic it helps to pull phrases directly from my research articles and books. That being said, if I cite it properly, is that considered plagiarism? Perhaps you could send our class a brief explanation of this.

Thanks,

Brendan Willycutpro (talk) 21:40, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback Request

[edit]

Hey Steve,

I am in Professor Turner's Communication class, and I have finished editing my theory page but no one seems to be giving me any feedback. Perhaps when you have a moment could you look over my page and tell me what you think? http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Symbolic_interactionism Thanks, Ben Bgwiki15 (talk) 19:50, 3 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:Clark-Mills-George-Washington-Detail.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:34, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Art Monk Construction has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Lack of notability; no supporting references

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 02:49, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Art Monk Construction has been nominated for deletion.

[edit]

It appears that an editor nominated your page creation for deletion on January 23, but somehow you were not notified. The procedure is listed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Art Monk Construction if you'd like to weigh in. I've requested the procedure await your response, if you'd like to comment. I'm taking the liberty of emailing you just in case, although that's not something we'd normally do for AfDs. While the page may not be that important to you, I believe it's essential any page creator is properly notified when a formal procedure is launched. As an aside, we thank you for your wiki-ed work. It's important college age students are exposed to the workings of Wikipedia because we're not going away. ;-) BusterD (talk) 16:45, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Art-monk-construction-logo.svg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Art-monk-construction-logo.svg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:06, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
