Demon with a Glass Hand

[edit]

It's nice to be appreciated. Thanks. It still freaks me out a little when somebody corrects my edit a nanosecond after I save it. Second time that happened to me. Clarityfiend 04:47, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cold Turkey

[edit]

Thanks for your additions to Cold Turkey (film). The film always amused me so when I saw that Wikiepdia had no article on it I grabbed the opportunity to create one. House of Scandal 06:59, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Film infoboxes

[edit]

Great work on completing so many film infoboxes and photo requests. Could you please remember to remove the infobox/image requests from the talk page when you add them so we can get a better gauge on which ones are done? Thanks for your dedicated work, I appreciate it. Starting with our initial 800 infobox requests, we have already whittled it down to about 650. --Nehrams2020 05:32, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen you around in some articles I work on before and we do appreciate any help we can get at knocking these out. And from looking at the participants page at WP:Films, it looks like you've been working on these since September, a few months before a majority of us started. Again, thanks for leading the way. --Nehrams2020 06:16, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Looker 1981 fr.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Looker 1981 fr.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image is used in the article Looker with a text link. I have added the {{not orphan}} tag to the image page. - Alan Smithee 02:45, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've decided there isn't room for two film posters in the article, so I have tagged it as orphan image again. - Alan Smithee 04:05, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Argentine film

[edit]

Hi friend how are you? I see you created an Argentine film superb! Our encylopedia to Cinema of Argentina is just starting now and I'll aim at completing the full lists with all the details whilst removing th red links asap then move onto Austria, then belegium, then brazil etc. I would be immensely grateful if you could help out missing articles from Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/List of films without article/List of missing Argentine Films some time. Thanks a lot. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 17:34, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A few points

[edit]

Hi, and great you are ever-present in film gnoming. Just saw your Looker alt. poster. It won't show in the image page because it's only an ":Image" link. Also fair use should not be high resolution (and 462x676 is Hi), or it may get deleted soon. Best is if you could resize it down to 200px width. I could do this for you in a way that doesn't reduce its quality. Also best is to display the 2nd poster in the article. Let me know. Another point is that most films you tag as {{Film}} are actually {{Film|class=stub}}, so you could go ahead and give class stub, unless of course they look like class start. Cheers. Hoverfish Talk 16:16, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's for any film member to assess or re-assess classes stub, start and B. Only when it comes to upgrading to GA and on a peer reviewer is needed. In my first months of film-gnoming I didn't trust myself with assessing, but soon I got the points. There are some tricky points in spite of the stub upgrading instructions. One is that a short or simple documentary may have exhausted all that can be said about it without becoming as big as a class start. So sometimes I give a class start to an article that is no bigger than a (full) stub. But then anyone who disagrees is free to change it. Hoverfish Talk 07:18, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Hepburn_stamp_2003.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hepburn_stamp_2003.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Fair use disputed for Image:Guarding Tess 1994.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Guarding Tess 1994.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:23, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Night_They_Raided_Minskys_1968.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 23:59, 29 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 23:59, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Wait Until Dark 1967.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve.
