Not sure where's the appropriate place to add comments on a Mytalk page. But thanks for the warm welcome and the gooey plate of cookies! And thanks for the great edits on the IBOAI article. Thanks for the message. I have looked at the references and I am still of the view that the coverage is not significant enough to demonstrate notability per WP:ORG. I can see only 2 or 3 third party/independent references and the coverage there doesn't amount to much. I am afraid the "important in its sphere" is not the same as notability as that term is used on Wikipedia. I would also suggest that you remove the host of external links embedded in the article, per WP:EL. I can move the draft to article space for you if you wish, but I doubt that it would be long before it is nominated for deletion. – ukexpat (talk) 14:35, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alan, sorry for the delay in getting back to you and thanks for the reminder! Many articles on Wikipedia are not as well referenced as they should be and many should probably be deleted for lack of notability. They will be dealt with eventually, one way or another. As we are discussing this draft, the fact that other stuff exists is not of much help, but if you want to create an article that can stand on its own merits without any questions about notability, you really need to demonstrate notability by citing references to reliable sources. For this purpose, the organisation's own website is not reliable, nor are directory type listings on other websites or sites that just regurgitate press releases. Just one or two references to significant coverage in mainstream media would be enough for the moment. A shorter article with references is better than a long article devoid of references. Shorter articles can always be expanded as and when sources can be found. Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 15:27, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
