How to respond to vandals

I saw your comment on the Margaret Atwood talk page. It's actually pretty common for someone to just mess around, so the page doesn't need to be protected -- it was clearly just targeted randomly. What you do after reverting the damage is add a warning to the vandal's talk page. (Which I've just done in this case.) And if an administrator sees that this person has been repeatedly ignoring warnings, they can block them.
