A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Akshatvg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. A tag has been placed on Draft:Akshat Gupta, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Contested speedy deletion

[edit]

Regarding the speedy deletion you contested at Draft talk:Akshat Gupta, the fact that your own personal website comes up in Google Search results doesn't count for anything because it is a self-published source; in order to meet our notability guidelines, you need to have multiple non-passing mentions in reliable independent sources. In addition, the tone of your article is not encyclopedic, as it does nothing except list your qualifications and the career you wish to pursue; in other words, it is a résumé, and we are not LinkedIn. Thank you, Passengerpigeon (talk) 08:33, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a web host for holding personal web pages unrelated to work on building the encyclopaedia. You are, of course, welcome to make contributions to the encyclopaedia, in line with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, but if your purpose is to write a personal web page, then you would be better advised to use one of the many web sites which do provide that sort of service, such as a social network site or a web hosting service. Also please bear in mind that editing for any kind of promotional purpose is not permitted; that includes editing to promote or publicise oneself or one's work. If you continue to try to use Wikipedia for self-promotion you are likely to be blocked from editing by an administrator. JBW (talk) 16:42, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
