Help Request: Image Linking - 17:34, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit]

{{helpme}} I've uploaded an SVG file to use as a replacement for the Windows Logo, and have since moved it over to Wikimedia Commons. The old file still exists as the same name here on Wikipedia itself, and I have flagged it for deletion. In my user page, I'm putting together a userbox for people who contribute from a dual booting system, and want to include the image from Commons in this userbox. Is there a way to include the Commons-uploaded image in a "[[Image:Cube_2x2x2.svg]]" without it trying to default to the image located on Wikipedia itself? - Akoi Meexx

As far as I am aware, it won't use the commons' version until the Wikipedia version has been deleted. LaraLove 18:09, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If 1) you created it and 2) you were the one who moved it to Commons, I can delete the Wikipedia image under WP:CSD#I8. Is that what you would like? Let me know here or on my talk page. I'll take down the helpme tag for now, too. KrakatoaKatie 18:48, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am the one who created and moved it, yes. I can link you to both files to verify:
[|Cube_2x2x2.svg located on Wikipedia] - the one that needs to be deleted.
[|Cube_2x2x2.svg located on Wikimedia Commons] - The new location.

There you go - click the link for the Wikipedia image, and you'll see the Commons image instead, which how this place automagically works. :-) KrakatoaKatie 19:18, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removing categories

[edit]

Hi I removed several categories from the userbox you created per a WP:CfD. The syntax looks a little complex, so I figured I would let you know, in case I inadvertently screwed up something. If I did, I offer my most sincere apologies. -Justin (koavf)TCM08:57, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Everything looks good so far as far as errors, I'll double-check it all later when I get out of work. Thanks! Akoi Meexx (talk) 18:20, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
