Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Akhilprakashgpb, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Saranya Anand, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Let me know were does my article gone wrong

[edit]

I created an article about Saranya Anand and Wikishovel edited vigorously on it. I hope that I have provided all the links to the article. Now I lost the article I have created and if anyone can copy it to my user page. Akhilprakashgpb (talk) 03:03, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again Akhilprakashgpb. I'm happy to discuss the changes I made to Saranya Anand.
The first type of change I made was to remove unreliable sources. Wikipedia has guidelines about which sources are WP:Reliable sources, suitable for use to WP:Verify what we write. This is especially important in WP:Biographies of living person. Most of the references you used in the article were Wikipedia itself. For an explanation of why we can't use Wikipedia to reference Wikipedia articles, please see WP:Circular. You also used many references to IMDb, and IMDB is not a reliable source, especially for WP:Biographies of living persons. For an explanation of this, please see WP:IMDB. So I cleared out all of the references to Wikipedia and IMDB.
Next, I edited the article for a neutral, encyclopedic tone. On Wikipedia, writing from a WP:Neutral point of view is very important. You wrote on your user page that "I am helping to create my friends their Wikipedia page." The problem may be that you have a WP:Conflict of interest, if you're writing about a friend in the article Saranya Anand. So writing like "which earned her widespread acclaim and established her as a beloved figure among audiences, thereby solidifying her position as a household name in the region" is considered promotional, and since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, we can't use it to promote someone or something. Another example sentence:
  • "Furthermore, her impeccable sense of style garnered recognition, leading to her being honored with the prestigious title of Most Stylish Television Personality by the Times of India".
A more neutral way to write this might have been something like:
  • "In 2023, she was awarded the "Most Stylish Television Personality" award by the Times of India."
But I couldn't find a reliable source for that sentence, so I simply removed it. If you can find a reliable source to verify that she won the award, you can add that to the article.
And lastly, I removed unsourced claims about her personal life, like her date of birth. As I mentioned, it's very important to have a reliable source for claims about the personal lives of living persons, and to respect their privacy where that information isn't widely published. Perhaps you've been to her birthday party, and are absolutely sure that the birth date is correct. Even so, we still have to WP:Verify everything we write about her.
I hope that clarifies the changes I made. If you are writing about a friend, then please take the time to disclose your connection to her. Even if you're not getting paid to write the article, you might still have a conflict of interest. Thanks, Wikishovel (talk) 07:22, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just as a note, every page has an editing history, in this case Special:History/Saranya Anand, which shows every edit made to the page. The version that you wrote is not "deleted", it has just been replaced, so if you wish to find older versions of the article you should check out the page history. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 09:06, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Saranya Anand. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. That was not intentional it was an accident, you can put it back. Akhilprakashgpb (talk) 10:42, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I hope we have updated Mrs. Saranya Anand's page with the citations it required. If it satisfactory can you remove the biographies of living persons policy template Akhilprakashgpb (talk) 11:18, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Who is "we" please? Wikishovel (talk) 11:19, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That was a figure of speech because few of my friends helped me to find the appropriate links links for citation from the internet. But it updated by me only. Akhilprakashgpb (talk) 11:26, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are more sources now, thanks, but there are also many unsourced claims about her career. We can either remove the unsourced claims per WP:Biographies of living persons, or leave the tag on for now. Wikishovel (talk) 11:30, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can you point out which details needs the citation. or wanted to remove. Akhilprakashgpb (talk) 11:32, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you could start with the filmography section. There are also no sources for a modelling career, or for appearing on the covers of magazines. Wikishovel (talk) 11:35, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For films I have already mentioned the wiki pages of the films were here name was mentioned. Also for modeling I have images of the cover pages of that magazine but there is no links were it shows. Akhilprakashgpb (talk) 11:41, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please see WP:Circular: we can't use Wikipedia to reference itself. The article needs more WP:Secondary, WP:Reliable sources. Wikishovel (talk) 11:47, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
