Fair use rationale for Image:Codan screenGIF.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Codan screenGIF.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Codan logo.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Codan logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:12, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Codan

[edit]

Hi Adam, in your editing of your company's article it would help you to have a read through some essays/guidlines.

While strictly speaking there is no issue with you adding the company timeline and other edits to the article there are some things to keep in mind. As long as the related page on the Codan website has a copyright notice, the text must be rewritten else editors (and robots) will notice the cut-and-paste nature and remove it (on the basis of the incompatability between (c) and Wikipedia's licensing). Also text should, if possible, be sourced to reliable sources that are independent of the article's subject - in the case of the timeline this would largely be news articles. Lastly the tone of writing here is aiming for neutrality about the subject. Lines like "Parketronics is a state of the art electronics manufacturing company with a leading role in the Australian manufacturing industry." are only going to survive in their current state if references to a third-party source. If you've got any queries please drop me or anyone else here a line. Happy Editing - Peripitus (Talk) 12:07, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:NgtSR-radio.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 21:49, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
