Friends I am very new to Wikipedia editing and trying to understand Wiki markup and terms. After reading so many pages I try hard to follow guidelines but somehow mistakes happen so kindly tell me my mistake before rejecting or blocking my work. Thank you. --Ajaykumar Parmar (talk) 05:40, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Robert McClenon: Thank you for moving my page to a Draft section, but please tell me what is my mistake why my page not listed in a draft section at first. Should I have to include anything in my sandbox to put pages in a draft section? --Ajaykumar Parmar (talk) 05:40, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You did not make a mistake by putting your page in a sandbox. It is however the usual procedure for pages that are under review to be moved to draft space. Robert McClenon (talk) 07:07, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Robert McClenon Please check my page again and please tell me now it is ready to publish or not. As my page have yearly award section. So, I can add new link every year. Last year you moved my page because of less links but this year I added new links. Next year I can add other links. Please check. Thank you very much for your time. Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Ajaykumar Parmar, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Raja Ravi Varma Award and Jayant Parikh, which appear to be dealing with topics with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about these topics in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Raja Ravi Varma Award moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Raja Ravi Varma Award, is not suitable as written to remain published. Your article needs more WP:SECONDARY references. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. scope_creepTalk 10:49, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ajaykumar Parmar: New articles with only a single reference are no longer accepted. It needs at least three WP:SECONDARY references to remain in mainspace. I reviwed it as part of the WP:NPP process. 10:54, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Image source problem with File:Jayant Parikh Canvas Painting.png

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Jayant Parikh Canvas Painting.png.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:19, 26 February 2023 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 14:19, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Minorax Please tell me how I can share or submit permission from the copyright holder. Or what is the procedure to upload such image. Ajaykumar Parmar (talk) 09:36, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Contact_us/Licensing has the steps stated. Feel free to ask more questions if in doubt. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 10:38, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Review ?

[edit]

You are asking me to take another review of a page that I may have reviewed and declined four years ago. Unfortunately, you don't name the page, and I have not been able to determine what page it is that you are asking me about. If you want me to review a page, please let me know what page it is that you want reviewed. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:15, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Robert I forgot to mention page name it is Raja Ravi Verma Award and it is not a four-year-old page. You just revied it about 3 months ago. Please check the page again. Ajaykumar Parmar (talk) 05:53, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Raja Ravi Varma Award moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Raja Ravi Varma Award, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 10:21, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Ajaykumar Parmar! Your additions to Raja Ravi Varma have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 15:39, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
