Pling Toys

[edit]

Hi there! Instead of placing an external link to the company (which can be considered advertising or promotion), why not consider creating a Wikipedia article for Pling Toys? You can find some help about creating an article using the links I've provided in your welcome message. Bailmoney27 (talk) 03:55, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

this wiki editing is so frustating! One person tells me i cant create a pling toys page and deletes it. Another tells me i can! I would much rather have a pling toys page, rather than an external link. I had typed up it's history and the page dissappeared. I was hoping i would be able to ask others to add to that page, but please be explicit in telling me if that page will be deleted again?

And another thing. Now it says i am a sock puppet of Pling Toys. And? what's the problem, i am not advertising any product. Sheesh, we're a start up and merely providing information about pling toys, if someone reads the bett's page and wonders what pling toys is about.

You must have missed the line in the warning you received at your last username. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. 76.102.49.177 (talk) 04:12, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for replying, i did read it. more specifically "This page in a nutshell: Do not edit Wikipedia to promote your own interests, or those of other individuals or of organizations, including employers. Do not write about these things unless you are certain that a neutral editor would agree that your edits improve Wikipedia."

that last bit. surely, it stands to reason that linking or creating page about pling toys will improve the information cited for pling toys? I hadnt even got as far as providing links to University material and background information!

I would be certain a neutral editor will agree that more information about what pling toys is trying to do, would improve wiki, if we're allowed to actually create it! Let's other read it and maybe even think about how to improve learning through digital content, in education, themselves!

I AM a neutral editor. Your edits are promotional and don't conform to WP:EL. You got tagged as a sock because you immediately made the same edit as you did under your previous username. 76.102.49.177 (talk) 04:35, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, look at it from my perspective.

1) insert link to plingtoys on BETT page. - deleted 2) ask why deleted. because cant do it as plingtoys representative. seems very fair to me. 3) so then look for pling toys wiki page to edit. it has been deleted. 4) okay, at the very least, tried to add external link to bett page. deleted.

catch 22?

How about just leaving the pling toys wiki page alone so i can work on it? i am not a master of wiki, so it does take time to do.

You're missing the meaning of "Conflict of Interest." As a rep for Pling, you shouldn't be using WP to promote the company for which you work, no matter what screen name you choose to use. Period. 76.102.49.177 (talk) 04:48, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

okay, understood. please delete the pling toy page. someone at the University can create it. pling toys is merely an off-shoot of education research. but, i understand that it could be seen as conflict of interest if i write about it.AintEasy (talk) 04:59, 29 December 2012 (UTC) thanks.[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pling Toys, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.
