A tag has been placed on Sarcophaga haemorrhoidalis, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. {{helpme}} Thanks so much for your help Geniac! You're awesome. My group and I are currently working on the project. My fear is that the website is already available to the public and it is not ready to go live yet. Do you know if it is live and if it is how i can make it go unlive? I tried to just make a page on my UserPage that we could all work on but not have it go live. The project is due on Wikipedia on Monday, March 23rd so it will be finished by then, but right now it is for sure a work-in-progress. Thanks again for your time! Hello, you're talking about the Sarcophaga haemorrhoidalis article, right? It seems you have already submitted it as an article, so it is indeed available to the public. You can still edit it and make any changes you'd wish, but other Wikipedia users also have the right to change it as well. Don't worry about it being a "work in progress", everything on Wikipedia is. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask here or you can contact me on my talk page. Killiondude (talk) 01:53, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help!! I think that my professor did not want the website to go live until it was ready and completed. Should I just delete the page and make a new one when we are officially ready? Is our option to create the page on my actual user page and then to create a the official article page when it is ready to go? Thanks for your help. It is GREATLY appreciated! Aggiegirl5039 (talk) 02:01, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. If you erase all the content in the Sarcophaga haemorrhoidalis article--I'll tag it for deletion (but you have to be the one to blank it, since you created it). You can then work on it on your userpage until whenever you're done and then move it to be an actual article. Killiondude (talk) 02:05, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Don't pay attention to that--I don't think they realized you were the article's creator. I undid their action and requested that the article be deleted since you blanked the page. Killiondude (talk) 02:10, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Erased the Content- Ready for deletion

No problem. I tagged the page for deletion. You might wanna check out Wikipedia:WikiProject Arthropods. Wikiprojects are groups on Wikipedia that manage certain topics or groups of topics. Basically to coordinate efforts and such. If you have any further questions feel free to ask me. You might also wanna check out WP:Introduction as well; it gives some basic info about Wikipedia. The page is now at User:Aggiegirl5039/Sarcophaga haemorrhoidalis, with a redirect from your user page. This was necessary in order to retain the history of the page and maintain compliance with the GFDL license. Please leave it there for now, and request a move for the page instead of copy-and-pasting text in the future. Thanks! Dekimasuよ! 03:37, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tip

[edit]

Hey when you wanna make a link show something, but link to a different page its called "piping" (WP:PIPE). For example, in your "Research" section, you have the name "Fallen" linked via a URL to another Wikipedia page. To make this an internal link (linking the right way), you'd put [[Carl Fredrik Fallen|Fallen]] when you edit the page. Its called pipe linking because of the little pipe symbol that's used. So the target page goes first, then you use the pipe symbol, then you put whatever you want the link to show up as on the page. This link, for example, would lead to my talk page. Nice job on the article so far btw. Killiondude (talk) 16:58, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That is good to know! Thanks! Aggiegirl5039 (talk) 17:09, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
