Thanks; I've added gfdl (it should've had that on, I must have forgotten to add it when I uploaded the pic) - MPF 4 July 2005 11:25 (UTC)

Not sure on Image:Juniperus_communis.jpg; it is originally from Estonian Wikipedia at http://et.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilt:Kadakas.jpg; I can't read Estonian, so I don't know if it has anything there on copyright status! - MPF 4 July 2005 11:33 (UTC)

Hi. John Hampden is a public domain image. Everything (well, most everything) on Gutenberg is in the PD. That's the point of Gutenberg. I've tagged the page properly (my bad). Your [1] reference has no bearing on the issue - it is talking about mirroring the entire site. Keep searching out imagevios, though. thanks --Tagishsimon (talk)

Telcel

Sure. The content was something along the lines of "Telcel is a Mexican cell phone carrier" which placed it under criterion A1. Twice. The second time it was posted it was dolled up with a template, a corporate logo...and no additional info about the company. Did you want to expand it? If you'd like to take a whack at it, I'll unprotect it right now. - Lucky 6.9 01:43, 29 August 2005 (UTC)

OK, give it a shot. - Lucky 6.9 01:48, 29 August 2005 (UTC)

No sweat. I found a blurb about them in an English news article about some new equipment they'd purchased. Take a look and by all means, add the info on the new microwave gear. - Lucky 6.9 01:58, 29 August 2005 (UTC)

Qwest Wireless

I noticed that you moved Qwest Wireless out of the MVNO section on Template:American_mobile_phone_companies. If you look at the Qwest Wireless page, you can read "All calls and data on the Qwest network actully runs via the Sprint PCS network". Is there anything you know of to suggest that Qwest Wireless isn't an MVNO? - Afiler 23:37, 17 December 2005 (UTC)

Image for Template User_UN

I am curious about why you have changed the image for User:Hexagon1/UN. The new image does not work as well (see the talk page), and I would like to see the old image back, unless there is reason to use the commons image instead of the local image. I am a bit new to this, so I don't know exactly how all this works; I just think the old image was nicer. -- Chris 09:18, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

observingcat image

Hi just read the notice about the image of the cat I uploaded. What wonders me is that I thought I already stated to refrain from copyright (being the one who made the picture). Did I miss something? Thanks anyway! Larix 20:15, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

Belgrade municipality flags

Hi! You left me a note on my talk page that four of the pictures that I uploaded are nominated for deletion. I'm in the middle of the "spring cleaning" and tagging of the pictures on Serbian Wikipedia (a lot of job there :( ), so I really don't have the time now to investigate if these files could go under PD or GFDL. Could it go under fair-use (something like fair-use-flags or something)? Thanks -- Obradović Goran (talk 01:17, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

Replied User talk:Obradovic Goran

Ah, silly me, I haven't noticed that these pictures aren't used :) I think they were used when I uploaded them (but now I'm not sure :). Now there are coats of arms on articles about Belgrade muncipalities, so these pictures could be deleted (except for Zastava-cukarica.gif, which is now used on Cukarica article (again temporarily I guess)). These flags might again be needed if (and when) someone starts the articles about symbols of Belgrade municipalities (coats and flags), but person interested in vexillology can upload files again if there is need for it. -- Obradović Goran (talk 01:37, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

I noticed one more thing - picture Zastava-savskivenac.gif is not the flag of Savski Venac, but rather the flag of Stari Grad, so this one should go for speedy deletion since it is misleading and inaccurate (it was probably someones (mine?) lapsus). -- Obradović Goran (talk 01:37, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

I didn't draw those flags :) Yes, I know that flags and CoA are under PD, but it is meant that their blazons are PD... actual drawings could be protected by copyright. As I said, since those files aren't used anymore they might be erased as far as I'm concerned. If someone decides to transfer them to Commons, that's OK with me also (just to underline that I'm not familiar with their copyright status). -- Obradović Goran (talk 01:51, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

Now, what I AM concerned about is that file Zastava-savskivenac.gif gets erased, since it is erroneous file. We can post it again under different name if needed (since pictures can't be renamed - or can they?). If you are an admin, please erase this picture. -- Obradović Goran (talk 01:51, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

I get the picture about 30k.. ;] I think that we have 5 or 7k of photos on sr: Wiki, and far less people involved in tagging pictures (but we're determined to sort them out) :] -- Obradović Goran (talk 01:51, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

One question.. when I'm trying to determine the copyright status of a picture transfered to :sr from :en, I sometimes can't find the original picture (we sometimes used to change names of the pictures from English Wikipedia, so things get even more complicated). In these cases, I'm not sure if picture is erased because of copyright violation, because it wasn't needed anymore, or is still out there but I can't find it. Is there a list of pictures deleted because of copyvio, that is convinient for search by name or preferablly by article? Do you maybe know about a place or person that could help me? -- Obradović Goran (talk 02:01, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

I hope the follow tag, {{Promophoto}}, is what you wanted. If it is, I'll go back and tag all the images I uploaded. I think that {{Film-screenshot}} and {{Tv-screenshot}} is what will be needed on the others. Happy New Year!- JustPhil 13:28, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

Yes, well, the Wonka bar picture I uploaded, it isn't a screenshot from the film (not like the images from Star Wars I have uploaded); it's an image of the prop. I tried to go back to the website where I found it, but the page didn't come up.- JustPhil 16:07, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

Hmmm.. I took the image from http://wikisophia.org/wiki/Schem . I don't know if that's GFDL or what. — Omegatron 14:43, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Well this has came to my attention and I did have expressed permission from the creator of the image and me as the creator of the character on said image. I gaved it the right tag to identify this notion.

If anything needs to be fixed, let me know. Thanks.

LGBT interests userbox

Hi! After participating in some discussion about userboxes, I've decided to create a userbox specifically for people who are interested in LGBT issues. I like this userbox a lot because it doesn't force people to take a stand on LGBT-related political issues or declare a particular identity, but just expresses a common interest in editing LGBT-related articles on Wikipedia. I saw your name on the list of people who are interested in this kind of thing at the LGBT notice board, and saw when I visited your userpage that you are pretty comfortable with userboxes, so I thought I'd let you know about this one in case you want to list it on your user page. I am hoping that people will see it, click the link to the notice board, and become more involved in editing LGBT-related articles on Wikipedia. The userbox is at Template:User LGBT interest. - AdelaMae (talk - contribs) 06:19, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Hey there. I noticed you reverted my adding an image to this userbox. I understand that Wikipedia doesn't allow copyrighted or fair use images in userboxes, but the specific image I added was licence free for Wikipedia, and I don't believe the logo upon which it was based was copyrighted either. I don't understand then, why this image wouldn't be allowed. - Hayter 20:41, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
