Speedy deletion nomination of C-Tech Innovation
[edit]A tag has been placed on C-Tech Innovation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. - There's no indication anywhere in the article that the company meets the notability standards of WP:CORP. The source you cited on the article talk page isn't a "news story", but a press release from the website of one of C-Tech's business partners. That doesn't meet WP:V. Help on refs and infobox
[edit](I rearranged this page a little; please put new things at the end Chzz ► 14:16, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
helpme
I want to learn how to make a wiki page with references attached at the bottom as well as a box to the right side of the article which contains information such as location of the subject and how long it has been in existence.
Thereon my article was deleted for not having any news references. I have shown that there is in fact a news reference. Does that mean my article will now stay up?
Chzz | |
---|---|
Born | |
Body discovered | Area 51 |
Occupation | Wikipedian |
Known for | Sausages, tea |
Opponent | None (AYBABTU) |
Awards | Goatstar |
Website | tea b3ta |
- References - see below
- The box, like the one here, is called an WP:INFOBOX. There are boxes for all different purposes, this example is the 'Infobox Person'. the 'code' for it is;

...the easiest way to use them is often to find a similar article and copy the 'code' from that, and change the parameters. to see all of the parameters, in the search box, type in "template:" followed by the name, e.g. type in template:infobox person to see the documentation for that one, ie template:infobox person.
- Regarding your proposed article - the best thing to do is, create the article in a user subpage - for example, user:Admo88/test page - click on that red link and make that page. That will be in your own user area, so not a live page. You can work on things there, test things out, and then ask someone to take a look and see if it is OK. Then it could be moved to the live area.
Hope this helps, if you have any further questions, just use another 'helpme'. Chzz ► 14:22, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
How references work
[edit]Simple references
[edit]These require two parts;
- a)
Chzz is 98 years old. He likes tea.
- b) A section called "References" with the special code "reflist";
== References == reflist
(an existing article is likely to already have one of these sections)
To see the result of that, please look at user:chzz/demo/simpleref. Edit it, and check the code; perhaps make a test page of your own, such as user:Admo88/reftest and try it out.
Named references
[edit]Chzz was born in 1837, in Footown.
Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.
Citation templates
[edit]You can put anything you like between , but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;
Chzz has 37 Olympic medals.
Please see user:chzz/demo/citeref to see the result.
For more help and tips on that subject, see user:chzz/help/refs.
