Myself and a couple of other botanists in the field of Annonaceae have decided to put a majority of our pictures onto Wikipedia with only photo credit. They have all agreed to release under public domain. As well as them being posted on Facebook, Section 2, paragraph 1 of the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities states "For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos (IP content), you specifically give us the following permission, subject to your privacy and application settings: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with Facebook (IP License). This IP License ends when you delete your IP content or your account unless your content has been shared with others, and they have not deleted it." Addysgreenhouse (talk) 23:58, 31 May 2021 (UTC)
- The files aren't in the public domain just because they were uploaded to Facebook; "us" in the above statement means Facebook, that's why you're running into issues on Commons. 78.28.55.108 (talk) 09:53, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
