Welcome!
[edit]Hello, AddisonBlacksmith, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.
I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. [edit]Yes, Facebook and Twitter aren't suitable sources. If the information supported by them seems accurate and relevant to you, then I suggest you try to find a better source, rather than removing the information.
I think it would be fine to use primary sources to describe the experimental design. Look for the best source for the information. (For a long-term study like this, later iterations might be better sources because they can tell what was actually done, rather than what was intended.)
