File permission problem with File:Helen-Camera.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Helen-Camera.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:18, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Hello Adarrah. Thanks for your message on my talk page. There are a couple of issues with that draft which I think you need to be aware of. The first, is the style of writing and the content itself. It would be fine as a magazine article, but it really is very inappropriate for an encyclopedia. Despite my comments at Draft talk:Helen and Frank Schreider, it is still loaded with evaluative words and phrases, attribution of emotions, etc.. There is also the problem that it seems to contain information which you have obtained from the subject (Helen Schreider) directly, but which does not appear to have been published anywhere. For example, that quote from Georgia O'Keeffe about Helen's paintings and the assertions that "They established a good rapport" and that Helen did a painting of Georgia O’Keeffe... Is any of that supported by the reference that is provided Helen Schreider (September 1974). "An American artist looks at the Middle East" Al Majal Magazine, or does it simply support the fact that she wrote an article about Georgia O'Keeffe? Even that cannot be verified from the title of the article and there are no page numbers. The second issue is the proposed film about her which is still seeking financing. I don't think that's appropriate for the article either at this stage. It's really only relevant if the film is actually released and independently reviewed. This brings me to my next concern, if you are in any way connected to this proposed film, you have a clear conflict of interest and you need to read this page for guidance when editing under those circumstances. Thank you for uploading File:Ushuaia wsign.jpeg. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am trying to insert a better photo of Frank Schreider, a photo that had been given to me by Helen Schreider, who had taken the photo. The photo is identified as FrankScan 2.pdf . In editing, I deleted the original photo, but I have been unable insert the new photo.

Could someone help me please.
