Doctor Who episode numbers
[edit]Hello... thank you, but unfortunately your edits have been reverted. Prior to renumbering the episodes, you should seek consensus within the Doctor Who Wikiproject. (At present, you do not appear to have even discussed the change, and a similar move by another editor was recently reverted.) Thank you. --Ckatzchatspy 03:55, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
- Apologies. The story numbers were out of sync with a recent issue of Doctor Who Magazine and indeed, publicity tied into the 200th story of "Doctor Who" which just went out this past weekend. I thought I was doing a service, as my understanding was that the numbering that had been used on Wikipedia was arbitrary and was based on older reference books. I also was led to believe that the primary reason for the change not occuring yet was the amount of time involved, so I thought I would assist in the project to update the story numbers so as to be more in sync with the official BBC numbering. As you have suggested, I have put the call out on the Doctor Who talk page. Again, I am sorry if I have overstepped my bounds. I was just trying to help the articles be less confusing to users of the wikipedia articles. Adamsappleturnover (talk) 04:29, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick reply, and no apologies necessary - editors are encouraged to be bold after all, and there aren't any bounds to overstep! However, in this case there happened to be a discussion under way, and a recent revert of a similar move. Thanks for posting your note - you might wish to join in with the active discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Doctor Who#Story numbers. Thanks again. --Ckatzchatspy 04:33, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
