It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. Thank you. I am updating on behalf of our organisation Advanced Pharmacy Australia so have permission to reference both their website and copy. I can update the content so it paraphrases the content from our website. Can you please revert back to my last edit so I can do this? AdPha (talk) 00:00, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, you cannot do that. You have a conflict of interest with AdPha. I have left a COI notice underneath for you. win8x (talk) 03:08, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies but I am a little confused. I have requested to change my username to Caroline_AdPha and if this now complies, can I go back to editing? I'm not clear what I am not complying with in terms of the content I added. AdPha CB11 (talk) 00:09, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not really. I recommend you read the big blue box below, especially the conflict of interest section. I cannot see that you requested a rename or created an account, let me know if I can help you in doing that. win8x (talk) 01:59, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "AdPha", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. win8x (talk) 03:08, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Your account has been blocked from editing because your username gives the impression that the account represents a group, team, club, organization, company, product, department, or website. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here. You may also read our FAQ for article subjects.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change to this account.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username of this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Important items to note:

  • The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
    • You are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually. Examples include: "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
  • The new username you choose cannot already be taken and used by another account. You can search here to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns, "There is no global account for [username]", that means it is available.

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, department, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

@Alexf Are you sure "AdPha CB11" isn't a "Mark at WidgetsUSA" situation? They did do a rename from just "AdPha". --Ahecht (TALK

@Ahecht: No I am not sure, but I did not see a rename. The name is still a violation as it does not say the likes of "Mark at Widgets", but still says the name of the company they are spamming for. In my view, adding a letter or two after the name does not change the underlying issue, (not to mention WP:PAID which is still another unresolved issue). -- Alexf(talk) 21:53, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
