User talk:ActorBoss
- Welcome!
Hello, ActorBoss, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for helping us build a great free encyclopedia. We have five basic principles, but other than that, we advise that you be bold and edit. If you ever have any questions or need help, feel free to leave a message at the help desk, and other Wikipedia editors will be happy to assist you.
Thanks again and congratulations on becoming a Wikipedian!
P.S. New discussion threads for you will appear at the bottom of this page.
Death
[edit]I notice that you've recently launched several biography stubs, apparently based on recent obituaries. In the course of several of them, you've included phrases such as "X passed away..."
This is specifically contraindicated by the guidelines at WP:EUPHEMISM, which state, "The word died is neutral and accurate; avoid euphemisms such as passed away." (Italics and Wikilink in original.) Could I ask you to use "X died" in future such edits? Thanks. Ammodramus (talk) 21:38, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- One more thing - you seem to be missing the last apostrophe for boldfacing the article subjects in the leads of your articles - '''this''' produces the bold text. Thanks! Connormah (talk) 21:10, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
- Again, could you please make sure you're not missing the third apostrophe for proper bolded text? It saves some time for others who end up correcting it. Connormah (talk) 22:17, 17 May 2014 (UTC)
- Again, it seems like you are missing one apostrophe at the end of your bolded names. Please, to save time for others, could you make sure you are not missing this? Connormah (talk) 22:49, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Donnie Andrews
[edit]Hello ActorBoss,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Donnie Andrews for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Gareth E Kegg (talk) 22:37, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Donnie Andrews
[edit]On 8 January 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Donnie Andrews, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Donnie Andrews was the main inspiration for the character of Omar Little on The Wire? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Donnie Andrews. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Bio article
[edit]Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- I see you create bio articles. Al Oeming may be worthy of one if you are into it.--Canoe1967 (talk) 02:18, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- I usually just start them as a stub with 1-2 sentences and at least one reference. Others come and kick them with edits and Afd etc. After the dust settles and you don't get edit conflicts then it can be expanded.--Canoe1967 (talk) 18:34, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
- His TV show has an article already I noticed. He had a game farm that closed and has become an auction. His son was trying to do fund nature/resort type thing on the property back in 2010. My uncle caught the first ever and eventually three wolverines for use in captive breeding to increase the populations in the wild. Al would tour schools etc. in Canada with his cheetah and give talks. He was a zoologist and vet/doctor, I think. Al commented about the shipping of one from northern BC to Edmonton. It was in a wood stove in my uncle's cabin. He threw a chain around the stove and shipped wolverine, stove, and chain all to Edmonton by Greyhound, I think the shipping weight was either 600 pounds or cost $600. The family has a copy of Northern Trapper(?) somewhere with the article. Sources will probably be hard to find for the trivial stuff. Peter Mansbridge remembers selling him two tickets for seats for him and his cheetah. Some of this may be too trivial for the article and hard to source. I finally found the property from the auction site It seems it is still under the name Polar Park. Wild Splendor Resort & Wildlife Sanctuary is the proposed name of the new facility but I don't know what state it is at. I may drive out there next week, take some pictures, and ask dumb questions. They may have copies of old news articles as well as books for sources. Thoughts?--Canoe1967 (talk) 20:55, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- I have never met or talked to Mr.Oeming. My family were talking about him at my uncle's funeral though. The only article now is Al Oeming – Man of the North. It seems he had another TV show in '62 - '63: http://www.tvarchive.ca/database/16211/alberta_game_farm/episode_guide/ --Canoe1967 (talk) 03:15, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
- I am sorry. I didn't word my OP very well. I had just noticed that you do create bio articles. I would create it myself but it seems that I have irked a few editors and some tend to AfD my creations and wikistalk my edits. We may be able to just expand the article now and include two new sections on the property and Mr. Oeming. I found with John Weaver (artist) that there were not many RS until April/2012 when he passed. I fear this may be the case as well. Most documention is in books and older newspapers that haven't been digitized to the internet yet. That is why I was hoping to get out to the farm and see if they can help with any copies they may have. I may phone or email first so they have a bit of time to dig some copies up so I can photograph or borrow them to read later. I am more a photographer and image seeker than than a research editor. Mr. Weaver was my first article which I created trying to figure out who made the statue of Gretzky here. I created Jennifer Graylock when I was looking for BLP images for articles that didn't have them and Hal Erickson (author) trying to sort out the birth year for Sondra Locke, The luckiest man in Iraq (deleted AfD) after I found a public domain video of him, etc.--Canoe1967 (talk) 13:01, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
- John Weaver (artist) was actually my first article and it was hard to find much material until April 2012. Al Oeming – Man of the North exists now and may just need two sections added on the farm and Mr. Oeming himself. Al Oeming could be created as a redirect to that article until we do find enough material for a stand alone article for him.--Canoe1967 (talk) 15:30, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
- I created a redirect for now. Readers will be able to find some material when they search now at least.--Canoe1967 (talk) 16:12, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Another bio
[edit]- BDP 1 BDP 2 BDP 3 Here are three RS I found if you wish to create an article. We already have a photographer in Bill Cunningham so (Canadian photographer) may be needed.--Canoe1967 (talk) 18:57, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- All three sources are for one person so only one article is needed. The 3rd source has his bio at the bottom.--Canoe1967 (talk) 18:41, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- That is the American photographer. This is the Canadian one.--Canoe1967 (talk) 18:50, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- No rush at all. I know how those moves go. I came home from out of town work once. The house was rented out, my stuff was in landlord storage, and the roommates were long gone with my cash and good stuff.--Canoe1967 (talk) 22:30, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
- That is the American photographer. This is the Canadian one.--Canoe1967 (talk) 18:50, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Welcome back. I just got back myself as well. Feel free to create Bill Cunningham (Canadian photographer) with the above three sources. We can probably move Bill Cunningham (photographer) to Bill Cunningham (US photographer) and then make Bill Cunningham (photographer) a Wikipedia:Disambiguation page.--Canoe1967 (talk) 14:29, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
The article Wayne Mills (singer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- WP:NOTMEMORIAL; 100% of coverage is on the shooting. No sources on him prior to that.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages
[edit]Thank you for your recent articles, including Stefan Bałuk, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. This can help you too, as the WikiProject members will often defend your work from deletion and try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information. You must use secondary reliable sources to show that the current organization is actually the same as the original one. Primary sources are not sufficient, they only indicate what the organization wishes to have the public believe, whereas our article points out that there is no direct legal connection between the two.

Your edits
[edit]Please read WP:OR and WP:NPOV. Your edit on black supremacy was "original research" in that you are calling the event black supremacy but the sources do not. Further, please read WP:RS about reliable sources. Per many discussions at WP:RSN, Breitbart is generally not considered a reliable source. EvergreenFir (talk) 14:21, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Ah right "Black Power" and next to it "Die whites die" has nothing to do with black supremacy? Lol nah I've had enough of this. This is nothing more than racism against whites. ActorBoss (talk) 14:22, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Please read WP:OR... your interpretation of events does not match what the sources say. EvergreenFir (talk) 14:49, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- What? Yes they do! I said in the article about what was said, which can be seen in the source. Then I mentioned the Hells Angels and Trump supporters, which can confirm in the second source. Did you even read any of it? Something is going to be done against your anti-white nonsense. It seems only whites can be racist according to you and your liberal friends ActorBoss (talk) 15:25, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- The sources you gave in this edit were Breitbart and WBTV. Neither article mention black supremacy at all. That's why this is original research. You are the one asserting that this is Black supremacy, not the sources. EvergreenFir (talk) 18:07, 30 November 2016 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on User talk:EvergreenFir. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Ian.thomson (talk) 02:16, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- Also, this is unacceptable (see WP:MEAT) and has me ready to block you now. As it is, I'm going to review your other edits first and then decide whether to block you now or request a topic ban. Ian.thomson (talk) 02:16, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Then do something and stop annoying me! I do not care if you block me, why would I want to speak to you anyway? As for my account? I rarely go on Wikipedia these days. The white pride page is completely biased and racist and it will get changed, if my account gets banned then so be it. "White pride is a motto primarily used by white separatist, white nationalist, neo-Nazi and white supremacist organizations in order to signal racist or racialist viewpoints" according to that statement whenever I want to display my proud heritage I'm a Neo-Nazi signalling my racist views? No I think not. It will get changed believe it or not. I will go to drastic measures until it is changed and is reported correctly! Not reported in a racist and ignorant manner by left wing reporters looking for money and attention. ActorBoss (talk) 02:22, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- Your behavior in the past few months has fallen under WP:NOTHERE. Despite that, you've previously done good work. I'm going to ask you one more time, and thing carefully about it:
- Do you want to throw away all your prior work over the anger you're feeling right now? Is that reasonable? Is that mature?
- As it is, I was typing up a request to have you topic banned from pages relating to race and racism. You'd still be free to write biographies, like many of the ones you list on your user page. The ones I've glanced at appear to be good work. I could, instead, block you under WP:NOTHERE (or at least, not here anymore). Is unreasonable anger really justification for ending something you've contributed a lot of time and effort to? Ian.thomson (talk) 02:37, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
My behaviour according to liberals who disagree with me you mean. Yes I accept that I have cursed at members but nothing else. I am standing up for the right thing and I won't allow you to label the white race as racist. Also please do not ignore me, you know the white pride page has been edited wrongly. I say white pride occasionally and I publicly show I'm proud of my race but this anti-white stuff has to stop. It is not fair. I have tried posting on the talk page but all of my comments have been removed, I've tried acting nicely to moderators if they could atleast help but nope. You are giving me no option here. Of course I'm angry ActorBoss (talk) 02:49, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- I've submitted a report about your behavior to Administrators Noticeboard/Incidents. If you are so angry about a topic, then you should not be editing it. I strongly recommend you do not edit any more pages relating to race or racism, and agree to the topic ban I suggested at WP:ANI. Ian.thomson (talk) 02:52, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- You need to stop editing articles relating to race and racism. Last warning before a temporary block for disruptive editing. Depending on how you respond to that block, it may be made indefinite. Ian.thomson (talk) 02:56, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- I see that, as quickly as you reverted, you are not interested in dialogue at all:

. Ian.thomson (talk) 02:57, 7 December 2016 (UTC)What was the reason? I was being anti-black? Hahaha are you fucking kidding me? I have a black cousin, blacks are good. I was creating an equal rant but equality doesn't exist. You seem to think because several Neo-Nazi groups use the word then that gives the word definition. Does it bollocks. You really need to grow up. As I said I will keep pushing until it is done and I will encourage more people to do it. This is about fairness and equality but that doesn't mean anything to you ActorBoss (talk) 03:11, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

. Ian.thomson (talk) 03:19, 7 December 2016 (UTC)- It's a shame that an otherwise productive editor would go so far off the deep end. If you regain your senses, your [[WP:SO|best chance of being unblocked is:
- wait six months without engaging in further personal attacks, or sockpuppetry, canvassing, or meatpuppetry (i.e. do not create another account and do not ask people to come here),
- ask for and agree to a topic ban from all pages relating to race, racism, and movements or philosophies connected to them,
- promise to never engage in personal attacks again.
- You don't have to apologize for your disruption, but that would help. Ian.thomson (talk) 03:19, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
