[edit]Hi, this message is to let you know about disambiguation links you've recently created. A link to a disambiguation page is almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Buckingham appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe this. Use of the "minor" tag on edits.
[edit]Hi Acsian88, great that you are editing :)
I note that you are marking all your edits as "minor" - for example this one: [1]. The policy is here: WP:M - in a nutshell editors normally use the minor edit box to signify that the current and previous versions differ only superficially (typographical corrections, etc.).
Most editors only use the box very rarely, and I think it would be a good idea to do the same.
Friendly regards,
Springnuts (talk) 18:45, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of List of news and current affairs programmes broadcast by MediaCorp Channel 8, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://wpedia.goo.ne.jp/enwiki/List_of_programmes_broadcast_by_MediaCorp_Channel_8.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Secondary school categories
[edit]Hi there. Well done for creating Loreto High School, Chorlton its a good article, but just a quick note about categories for secondary schools in England - If a school is still under local authority control (and is obviously not a grammar school) it should be in a Comprehensive schools category. If a school is an academy or free school etc, then it should be in a secondary schools category. Cheers, and happy editing! Bleaney (talk) 18:30, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. Cheers -Acsian88, 20:23, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
The article Hurlingham School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No indication of important. Not a high school or university.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. OlYeller21Talktome 04:09, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

Church of England schools
[edit]Hi there, I notice you have created diocese-specific categories for Church of England schools. A good move I believe, and it brings them into line with Roman Catholic schools category-wise. However I notice that quite a lot of CofE schools haven't been recategorised yet. Can I help? Have categories been created for all the diocese in England? One thing though, I would need to know how you find out which diocese an individual school is in? Do you know how to do this? For Catholic schools I have been using http://www.ukcpd.com/ is there a similar source for CofE diocese and parishes etc? Bleaney (talk) 23:59, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
- Yes I could use some help! I use the address to find the nearest parish church or check the diocese websites. - Acsian88. 17:28, 30 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hey there. Having started this, I cant help feel that maybe these categories could be better named? Instead of Secondary schools in the Anglican Diocese of... etc, Would it not be better to call these categories Church of England secondary schools in the Diocese of... etc? This way it clearly defines they are Church of England schools rather than ALL schools in a diocese. I would be happy to make the changes, what do you think? Bleaney (talk) 01:23, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- When I started making the categories I was unsure myself. I do know that the term "Church of England" is used rather than "Anglican" when specifically referring to the denomination in the country. I just knew I had to include a reference to the denomination to differentiate it from Catholic dioceses. Great suggestion you made. Hadn't thought of it. -Acsian88. 22:43, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
- OK well I will rename these categories, and get started! It will mean your categories will be deleted though. I will empty your categories out first and put them into the new ones and then start on the backlog. Cheers! Bleaney (talk) 15:07, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Hey Acsian88
I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).
So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.
What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.
The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

[edit]Edit summaries
[edit]Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. 220 of Borg 17:27, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Wikilinks within Quotes
[edit]Hi. In your recent edits to Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography you added wikilinks within quoted sentences. Please note that WP:LONGQUOTE says "Do not insert any number of quotations in a stand-alone quote section." If I had more time or willingness I would alter those sentences to keep the wikilinks and lose the quotes, as the wikilinks are more important than keeping the exact wording. I have neither, but thought I would at least let you know for your future editing. Thanks. -Lopifalko (talk) 08:00, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
Edit summaries, please
[edit]Hello-
- Please make a habit of providing an edit summary when you make a change to an article. Doing so makes it easier for your colleagues here to understand the intention of your edit.
- Plus, it will be easier for you and your co-editors to collaborate on articles if, instead of making multiple consecutive edits in rapid succession on an article, you use the "Show preview" button to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits. This keeps the page history of the article less cluttered.
Thanks in advance for considering these suggestions. Eric talk 13:37, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 4
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Chicago Fire characters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bouncer. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Replaceable fair use File:God151220concert.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:God151220concert.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 19:01, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
Bold
[edit]I think the bolding in the track listing should stop. Just like on: Chapter 3 (g.o.d album). There are ways to showcase people with additional credits. The bold is really gaudy and isn't done anywhere else - so essentially you're making up your own rule. See: 4:44_(album)#Track_listing and under the track listing, the "Notes" section. It has a small clickable note and tells what it is. This should be the way to do it. --Jennica✿ / talk 23:52, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
- I actually copied the template from a SechsKies album wiki page (see Road Fighter (album). I did not know about an alternative. So no I did not make up my own rule. -acsian88, 22 July 2017, 9:53 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:BrigidineSchool.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:BrigidineSchool.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Copyright problem on The Gunnery
[edit]Content you added to the above article back in September 2015 appears to have been copied from the school website. Copying text directly from a source is a copyright violation. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Preparatory schools in Merseyside
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Preparatory schools in Merseyside requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! KBL Playoffs Most Valuable Player Award moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, KBL Playoffs Most Valuable Player Award, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. The article does have useful prose but does not appear to meet the general notability guideline, but I suspect some info not available to me will demonstrate notability. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. interstatefive (talk) - just another roadgeek 15:47, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

The article Mowden Hall School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Primarily an advert, fails WP:NSCHOOL.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AusLondonder (talk) 17:29, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
