Hello Achitnis. Welcome to Wikipedia. If you haven't see the Wikipedia tutorial yet, you might find it useful in learning more about how to edit. Do you know if the image you uploaded at Image:Cox.png is freely licensed? The wiki it was taken from doesn't state a source. Please see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and add the appropriate one to the Image description page. If you have any questions, please ask at the help desk or on my talk page. Unfortunately, it's been deleted already, but if you can find out the copyright status, please re-upload it. Angela. 10:53, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

May need arbitration

[edit]

I apologize for not contributing more to this article. I have not been very active on Wikipedia lately, as I've had a lot of pressing matters to deal with offline. Although you're right that the practice is discouraged, there was nothing wrong with your recent edits to the article, the picture is a big improvement. Reading through the article, it looks good to me, although it could do to be fleshed out with additional information (if such information is publicly available and relevant). What is the problem with the controversies section that it needs the NPOV tag? Is there a problem with the article that you feel needs to be addressed? I've left a comment on the article's talk page that you may want to address. I don't think this dispute is anywhere near needing arbitration, a last resort for the worst edit conflicts. If you want to learn more about dispute resolution in Wikipedia, check out Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. Thanks for your patience in this matter. Canderson7 (talk) 19:00, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the contributions. I'll incorporate much of that information into the next version of the article. Are there any offline references for the first two sections? Those can be included in an article as well. What article heading(s) do you think the information should go under? Canderson7 (talk) 00:15, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've deleted the draft page; thanks for letting me know. Canderson7 (talk) 13:14, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

Hi "AC". Just dropped in to say you a big hello. It was nice to "discover" you in Bangalore, though I recollect having read about you somewhere. Looking forward to having more interatction with you in future. Thank you. --Bhadani 13:06, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have asked admin to make it shorter.I hope it will saisfy ur wish.Thanks.Mahawiki 13:13, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello "AC" once again: your personality makes me feel "cool", and sometimes I write and speak which make no sense. As regards above page, I just draw your kind attention to the position that I am unable to do much in this regard as I do not know much about the matter: [1]. I also saw your post, and had given a link to Sundar: [2]. --Bhadani 13:50, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Reference. Yes "AC", sure, certainly it was an awesome event. Yes, I do agree with you: we should also focus on Jimmy's desire to make all wikipedian in Indian languages attract more contributors. Regards. --Bhadani 14:03, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Belgaon article

[edit]

First of all,if u dont care about 'Belgaon's border issue' its your problem. It is very unlikely that u have had heat of it because u seem to belong from a affluent and/or indifferent family.Thats no problem but i think it does not mean u hurt 'our' (our means Maharashtrians whether in Belgaon or in Maharashtra state) feelings.I saw ur brief where u have completely changed the face of article giving in to a Kannada editor who wanted that nonsense 'capital' thing to be included more prominently. It is nice if u make a new article of it but still a brief summary of dispute should be there in main article.

It is good that ur being impartial but let me tell u i not my father or any relatives belong to any political party. It is love for our language and state that makes me care for this issue. So before trashing this issue u should have been more sensitive and not removed important points about Belgaon struggle.Dont think that ur apathy is a general representation of what Belgaonkars or Maharashtrians think. Thanks! Mahawiki 14:10, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am not trashing the issue, I am going about it the logical way - I am separating the two things. And have now done so, in accordance with Wikipedia rules. The Belgaum border dispute article has been created and has been linked to from the main Belgaum article. You may now maintain the new article, but the Belgaum article has seen enough politicization.
And *please* - statements like "It is very unlikely that u have had heat of it because u seem to belong from a affluent and/or indifferent family" are childish and certainly not supportable on Wikipedia. Pleae do not use them in the future. If you revert the article on this basis, you will unfortunately be subjected to arbitration. As things stand, you still have you platform for political stuff, but you should *not* touch the Belgaul article again politically. Instead, try adding stuff that is missing, like about industries, climate, environment, etc.
Achitnis 14:15, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have requested Bhadani to look into this. And yes dear Mr Chitnis, did u have a look at the other instances of kannada POV on the same article.See external section and please remoce so called political stuff!

Mahawiki 14:20, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sometimes I have to stop and wonder - when did we stop being Indians and become "you Kannada/Marathi/whatever people"?

That is when we are oppressed above the limit and given step-motherly treatment from Delhi and fellow Indians.I really wonder how could u ask this question when u urself claim to be a Belgaonkar!

Mahawiki 05:36, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Glad we have people like you

[edit]

Dear Mr Chitnis. I have read your postings on the Belgaum issue, though I have not been involved recently on that page it any way. I am proud that there are people like you in Karnataka. Keep it up!!!.

Dineshkannambadi

Dear friend, Thanks for ur message.I never said I am Belgaonkar.I hope u have read todays newspapers where all media (be it English or Marathi) have taken down on Kannada goondaism in Belgaum duriong the Bandh. I am sure that ur not Maharashtrian.few Kannada users are very happy with u!If i am not being paranoid...who's sockpuppet r u? Mahawiki 14:36, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

LOL - you really know nothing about Belgaum, else you would have figured out by now whom you are talking to. I give up. Achitnis 16:14, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

'Gazillion' edits and mouth shut

[edit]

a) This is not me.
b) 'Gazillion' edits can happen if you hang around a certain Mr.Mahawiki for all of a month. Or worse, he chooses to hang around you. :) Sarvagnya 08:48, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Attack

[edit]

Mr.Achitnis, regarding your comment on Utcursch's page you have remarked - "One of them seems to have nominated the article on me for deletion (for a second time). :) Check out the IP address of the nominator". This is a personal attack on me as you seem to suggest that I have nominated your article or whatever for deletion, which is absolutely untrue. You havent mentioned my name directly but it is obvious, since the header under which you commented is directed at me. I ask you, why have you attacked me when I have NEVER corresponded with you before this. In fact, this is the first time I am hearing about you. This is not in good faith. I request you to take back your remarks simply because they are misleading and please refrain from such attacks hereafter. -AryaRajyaमहाराष्ट्र 18:38, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Simply because the section under which you posted your comment on Utkurcsh's talk page, was directed at me. So obviously Utkursh or rather anyone will feel, that your comment is also directed at me. Which is not good. This misunderstanding could've been avoided if you would have posted your comments under a new header. Well, that's what I felt as well. Why would you, who I've had no correspondence till now, would comment about me. Anyway, now that yo've clarified, it's alright. No bad feelings. Bye. -AryaRajyaमहाराष्ट्र 18:59, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your revert to Belgaum

[edit]

Hello Achitnis,
You have reverted the Belgaum article citing "reverting political edit". Please note that the order of the languages was changed to logically reflect the number of people speaking each language. There was no political intent (WP:AGF). Thank you.

210.18.78.2 08:55, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Given the nature of edits this article has been receiving, and the fact that even your statement implies proof of your claim, which makes it politically sensitive, and adding to that that I am talking to an IP address, I am afraid I need a little more than that. Making the change (to a statement that has remained unchanged and unchallenged for a long time) would just trigger off more politics. I also notice that you reverted the change again to your POV without waiting for a response from me - hardly supportive of AGF.

Happy Diwali!!!
Known as the "Festival of Lights" in India, Diwali symbolises the victory of good over evil. It represents celebration of hope and life, and is an occasion to strengthen relationships. This year, it is celebrated on December 20, 2024. I take this as an occasion to wish you the best in the days to come. May this Diwali invigorate you, bringing you more happiness and content. Happy Diwali!!!

Gross NPA violation
