Communication

Is there a better way to communicate with people then to write on this type of talk:Someone page? Love the community, the idea is realy beatuiful. A bit communist, but beautiful. Slobo 12:23, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Hello

Just wanted to ask if the welcome message is automated or if somebody actualy gives a damn ;) Slobo 12:13, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Okay, I'm the (technical) administrator of the german C64-Wiki, so I already know a bit about how MediaWiki works (both inside and outside).

I think this Welcome message is a very good idea. I guess it would be a Good Thing for the C64-Wiki, too!

Thanks

Thank you for your vote of support on my recent RfA. I was quite surprised by the amount of support I received, and wish to extend my thanks to you for taking the time to support my nomination for adminship. -- Longhair | Talk 12:13, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Equip yourself. You'll need plenty more to keep up ;) -- Longhair | Talk 12:32, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Why not suggest it become one? (Though a better image would be grand). -- Longhair | Talk 12:45, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

I'm an ideas man. Being arty doesn't happen easily, though I think the idea is a good one. You're kind of the foundation recipient I guess ;) -- Longhair | Talk 12:52, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome

Thanks for the quick welcome, Ryan. I imagine I'll be a bit active over here. Time to learn all the funky editing scripts for this site. Check out my first work in progress at SX-70. -Apocaplops 15:33, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Happy to be here

Surprised to be welcomed so fast. I'm used so much to automated introductions, never thought there'd be a user doing them :D First time register(er?), long time anonymous contributor. Maybe now my friends will credit me a little :P --PotatoSamurai 15:53:25, 2005-08-01 (UTC)

Thanks for your welcome :)

hey ryan

Thank you very much for the warm welcome to wiki.. it is very appreciated. Its not often you get personal welcoming messages from websites.

Theank you for the info on editing pages ect. Im having a little trouble getting my head around talk pages and the likes (which is why i took all day to respond) but im understanding it a lot easier now!

I have already converted my first stub into a full article on the spinone. its not the best but i am planning on tweaking it up in the near future. any suggestions till be welcomed!

Ta for now! --Tekana 21:50, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Advice wanted re: 'original research'

I had a question which I opened on Talk:Joseph Ransohoff and would love your opinions on it. Kit 22:02:33, 2005-08-01 (UTC)

How can I connect my user name to my biography?

I followed your suggestion regarding how can I change my user name from Samsloan to Sam Sloan by simply creating a new user name of Sam Sloan and updating all my pages.

Now, I have a new problem.

If I hit my new user name of Sam Sloan at the top left of the screen, it says: "Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name. Start the Sam Sloan article."

However, it does have an article with this exact name. There is a Sam Sloan article writen by Amorrow. It is my biography and I would like to use it.

http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Sam_Sloan

How can I connect the two together?

Sam Sloan

Thanks for the nice friendly welcome

At first I thought you might be a bot of some kind that automatically welcomes new people, but it's nice to know there are people out there who make people feel welcome. Thanks man! --Hottscubbard 04:24, August 2, 2005 (UTC)
