Welcome to my talk page. Since I'm pretty new to Wikipedia and fairly new to Wikis in general, please feel free to just say hello, leave some (gentle) advice or tips.

Starfleet Command PC Gaming Project
I'm using this space to track and announce things that I'm looking to do and accomplish as part of a kind of "pet project" with the Star Trek PC games with which I'm very familiar, and also with Star Trek universe things in general. The input on a few of the Star Trek games pages, such as Starfleet Command (original version and/or Gold Edition) and Starfleet Command III seem to have stalled somewhat, but there's still a fair amount that can be added to them. I'm taking the initiative under WP:BOLD to boldly go... er, I mean, flesh out the articles to the best of my knowledge. Here's a little "shopping list" of things I intend to add over time:
- Starship classes and attributes: Those who are into the ST Universe know that there are a number of classes of starship in each race, these being; fast frigates (FF), Light Cruiser (CL), Heavy and Command Cruiser (CA) and (CC) respectively, Dreadnought (DN) and Battleship (BB). Also, in the original SFC, there are other classes of ships, such as the "drone cruisers" that employ "missiles", such as the "NCD" classes which are essentially "drone cruisers", whose main offensive weaponry are the drones/missiles. I believe these should also be explored for completeness.
- Tactics: The game, particularly the original SFC, seems to pit opponents at you based on what class of starship the player is piloting and what weaponry is installed on that ship... For example, if a player is using a CAD or CADR+ cruiser that has 6x "B" Missile racks, the game will generate (again as an example) Orion pirate vessels that are "missile boats" with high speed "7x C racks" to balance off against the player. However, by the same token, if a player is using a starship that makes limited use of missile racks, but is heavy on phasers, the game will generate opponents that utilize phasers and another type of heavy weapon, such as that of multiple Hydran Hellbores, as opposed to the brute force of the missile boat tactic. Thus, naturally, I'd like to have points in the articles as to how to best defend oneself from attacks based on the player choice. Example: The player uses a "drone cruiser" (NCD or CAD) and the game generates an Orion opponent that also has drones as a "balanced equivalent", but the Orion drones racks, being of the "C" class (which are, interestingly, never available to the player), reload and fire faster. The player must employ a combination of high impulse speed (to outrun drones for as long as possible until phasers in concert with defensive tractors, can eliminate them) while maneuvering for position to launch their own drones for the shortest path of travel and in a bid to limit the response time of the enemy ship (shooting drones down, using defensive tractors, etc), usually in the form of being directly at the bow of the enemy.
These are the directions I'd like to go with this. I want to make the "end user" know what they can expect, how they can maximize their win potential and make the articles as descriptive as possible to enhance the gaming experience and help steep the player further in ST lore.

As for other ST related editing, I note that there is no page related to the Lyran Star Empire, and that the page on the Hydran Kingdom (both major players in the original SFC) either don't exist or are very sparse in information. I'm looking to fix this also.
Time Scheduling for SFC Project
I have a job, a family and a couple of minor IRL hobbies, so this is what I'm doing... I've started a local (on my HD) Word file with information I'm adding to the SFC pages for when I get "inspired" when I feel the urge. As sections are complete as far as text goes, I'll add them into the article, those who are inclined can pipe or add links as necessary. This is, to me, the "fast and dirty" method of getting the basic info in. My days off are Friday and Saturday, which are the days I'll be putting the raw text into the articles, so be sure and check, say, Sunday, and add and refine as you see fit. I can foresee some placement/format issues, as I'm not up to snuff on the Wiki markup at this point. That's where those in the know come in: if you see formatting that needs help, please lump in.
