Well, As long as you're not lying about actually being Abney Park, (which I have no reason to believe you are), I'm happy to accept your edit to the Abney Park Wikipage. My problem was that it was some anaonymous user with no login posting without even leaving edit summaries, and then reverted it several times despite the fact that I quite clearly stated I wanted an explanation if they wanted to do it again. In any case, I love Abney Park, and bow to the creator's wisdom in this. (J. P Marshall III)

Well it does touch on issues like: WP:AUTO, which will also apply to bands writing their own page, and WP:COI so it'd be advisble to read those guidelines and take them on board. (Emperor 05:19, 3 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Group-amber-small.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Group-amber-small.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:29, 11 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 01:29, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Group-amber-small.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Group-amber-small.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:29, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Abneypark-intothebreach.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. MER-C 12:27, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings from Doctor Steel

[edit]

Hey Robert (and whoever else from the band visits/edits this page). I was the chief editor of the Doctor Steel page which recently got approved here. I noticed that a couple of our references also mentioned you, so I added them to your page. Also a reference I found in the article of another steampunk band with whom I am familiar with, The Unextraordinary Gentlemen (Malcom is an interesting guy), that also mentioned your band. I also started a "former members" section to your sidebar, since you've had a significant number of them.

We had to fight tooth-and-nail and provide references up the wazoo to get the page approved here, and still it was an uphill battle. Looks like your page could be fleshed out with some objective references as well. I'm more than willing to assist further, as my time permits.

PS. We have some mutual acquaintances in the League of STEAM, and Prof. Greyshade and his wife are friends of mine. Alas, I can't make your concert at the Queen but hopefully will get to meet you in person sometime. --Jonnybgoode44 (talk) 07:04, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
