Hello Abishe, hope you are doing great. I was wondering whether you could find the time to write Marino Mall, and hotel Marino Beach Colombo. Since you wrote Damro and Marino Mall is their subsidiary, it might be easy for you to write it. Let me know. Cheers Chanaka L (talk) 07:31, 18 January 2023 (UTC)

Major cryptocurrency firm article corrections and important updates
Hi, I see you’re a participant in the WikiProject for Finance and Investment and are currently active on Wikipedia. I have a COI, as fully disclosed on the page. Given the nature of the topic I thought this might be of interest to you as a participant in the Finance and Investment WikiProject. WikiCup 2023 March newsletter
So ends the first round of the 2023 WikiCup. Everyone with a positive score moved on to Round 2, with 54 contestants qualifying. The top scorers in Round 1 were:
- Unlimitedlead with 1205 points, a WikiCup newcomer, led the field with two featured articles on historical figures and several featured article candidate reviews.
- Epicgenius was in second place with 789 points; a seasoned WikiCup competitor he specialises in buildings and locations in New York.
- FrB.TG was in third place with 625 points, garnered from a featured article on a filmmaker which qualified for an impressive number of bonus points.
- TheJoebro64, another WikiCup newcomer, came next with 600 points gained from two featured articles on video games.
- Iazyges was in fifth place with 532 points, from two featured articles on classical history.
The top sixteen contestants at the end of Round 1 had all scored over 300 points; these included LunaEatsTuna, Thebiguglyalien, Sammi Brie, Trainsandotherthings, Lee Vilenski, Juxlos, Unexpectedlydian, SounderBruce, Kosack, BennyOnTheLoose and PCN02WPS. It was a high-scoring start to the competition.
These contestants, like all the others, now have to start again from scratch. The first round finished on February 26. Remember that any content promoted after that date but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Some contestants made claims before the new submissions pages were set up, and they will need to resubmit them. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed.
If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Sturmvogel 66 and Cwmhiraeth. WikiCup 2023 May newsletter
The second round of the 2023 WikiCup has now finished. Contestants needed to have scored 60 points to advance into round 3. Our top five scorers in round 2 all included a featured article among their submissions and each scored over 500 points. They were:
- Iazyges (1040) with three FAs on Byzantine emperors, and lots of bonus points.
- Unlimitedlead (847), with three FAs on ancient history, one GA and nine reviews.
- Epicgenius (636), a WikiCup veteran, with one FA on the New Amsterdam Theatre, four GAs and eleven DYKs
- BennyOnTheLoose (553), a seasoned competitor, with one FA on snooker, six GAs and seven reviews.
- FrB.TG (525), with one FA, a Lady Gaga song and a mass of bonus points.
Other notable performances were put in by Sammi Brie, Thebiguglyalien, MyCatIsAChonk, PCN02WPS, and AirshipJungleman29.
So far contestants have achieved thirteen featured articles between them, one being a joint effort, and forty-nine good articles. The judges are pleased with the thorough reviews that are being performed, and have hardly had to reject any. As we enter the third round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 2 but before the start of round 3 can be claimed in round 3. Remember too that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). .Spicy (talk) 15:10, 26 April 2023 (UTC)@Spicy: So this is an indefinite lifetime ban for me from editing Wikipedia and I don't get a second chance. I know I have made a mistake and I apologise for it. I was under alcohol influence when I lost my mind at workplace and came to edit Gautam Adani for no reason. Can I get a second chance and prove myself again I can oblige to the terms and conditions of Wikipedia. Is there a way for me to comeback or doors are still closed for me? I normally don't make such cringe bizarre Wikipedia edits but I lost my mind on that fateful day and now I got what I deserved. A permanent ban for me on one of the most passionate things I had in my life. Surely I am 100% responsible for my dumb errors and I am really sorry for that. I love writing more Wikipedia articles and I love to continue my passion. I have been a volunteer editor for 6 years since making my debut on 17 February 2017 and I feel I can once again continue my good work. I swear I will never make or commit this mistake. Please Wikipedia give me one more chance and I will try to rectify myself. I know what I did was awful that bloody mistake of mine to nominate an article for deletion. I know it was stupid of me to do that and I also ranted about myself in my userpage which was later reverted. Can I make a comeback here? Is it possible? Can I pursue my dream here? Does it mean I am done from this platform after 6 years. Please give me one more opportunity to turn things around and I promise that I will be ethical in how I conduct myself in Wikipedia editing. I take the blame and I am now mentally and physically fit with consciousness and I can do my work properly. I will never take things for granted again please allow me to join this great platform. I understand its an offense and cannot be tolerated but I urge you to overturn your decision and please trust me I will never do this hereafter. I love Wikipedia editing and it's my passion. I don't have much friends to hangout and I mostly care for this. Wikipedia changed my life forever and I am grateful for it to be part of my life. I regret my awful edits and I am feeling bad about it. Surely it could have been avoided. Please give me one more chance and if I do a mistake of this nature again, I deserved to be banned forever. Please forgive me administrators and fellow editors because of my antics. Normally I don't act in toxic way whenever I edit Wikipedia articles or whenever I message users here. That day I breached the limits, I crossed the limits and that's why I am banned forever. I am guaranteeing you all that I can come back again as a human with moral values and I am under some rehabilitation. I also quit my job at Cargills Bank owing to my professional mistakes where I made truckload of mistakes when it comes to legal clauses and format checking of bank guarantees. I am slowly getting back into myself and please trust me and let me do my Wikipedia editing. It's a humble request from me and also an apology thread sharing my feelings right now. I hope to get a response soon. Thank you. Abishe (talk) 06:57, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, and I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm not opposed to an unblock, but given the nature of the block I think it should be reviewed by a functionary first. I've contacted one who should hopefully respond soon. Thanks, Spicy (talk) 09:51, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Abishe. I'm the functionary Spicy reached out to. I think it's appropriate for your appeal to be accepted. However, please know that a repeat of the kind of content that was on your userpage could result in an oversight block. One final note: indefinite does not mean infinite as this is showing. It just means that there is no set date to the end of the block. Barkeep49 (talk) 14:32, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Given the agreement from Barkeep, I've unblocked your account. Welcome back, and keep in mind that it's fine to take a break from Wikipedia if you're feeling stressed. Real life comes first. Best, Spicy (talk) 17:05, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
@Barkeep49: @Spicy: Thank you so much for understanding my situation and I am glad that I am back to Wikipedia. I am thankful for this second innings and I wish I can continue the way I did prior to that shambolic edit which imposed me a ban. I hope I can live up to your expectations here and thank you once again for giving me this opportunity again. 🙏 Abishe (talk) 03:22, 12 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi thanks for making so Sri Lankan Tamil film articles. How is Sri Lanka? I always wanted to visit Jaffna but never got the chance. How is life for Tamils in Sri Lanka? DareshMohan (talk) 01:15, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- @DareshMohan: Thank you so much for the compliments and kind words especially for acknowledging my efforts. I actually live in Colombo and I do not really have deep rooted connection with Jaffna Tamils though. I have interacted with Jaffna Tamils as I consider myself more of Indian Tamil. Hmm, yeah Tamils live peacefully here and yeah there are issues in North especially with regards to Army invading the land of the Tamils. In general, the economic crisis and cost of living is unbearable for most of us in Sri Lanka. Brain drain is a huge concern for Lanka. Tough times ahead. That is what all I can sayː) Abishe (talk) 15:35, 1 September 2023 (UTC)

New pages patrol newsletter
Hello Abishe,
Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!
October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.
PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.
Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.
Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Page Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.
