Information icon Hello, I'm Rocknrollmancer. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Nottingham Trent University have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia.

Please do not copy text from lower down in the article so you can place in the introduction.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 12:52, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 12:59, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your contribution to Nottingham Trent University

You have been copying content from lower in the article - where it is supposed to be - and placing this information into the opening section. You have been sent two warnings. You can comment why you are doing this at Talk:Nottingham Trent University#New editor copying content within Wikipedia to place in a prominent position. Thank you.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 13:08, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Toddy1. I noticed that you twice changed content in an article, Ahmedabad, but you didn't provide a reliable source. Instead you placed your changed number next to a citation that supported the previous number. That was misleading and goes against our policy on verifiability. Your edit has been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation to a source that supports your number and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave a message on the article talk page. Thank you. -- Toddy1 (talk) 20:54, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Ahmedabad.

  1. 14:54, 01 August 2023
  2. 20:26, 01 August 2023
  3. 22:41, 05 August 2023

This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. -- Toddy1 (talk) 10:50, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
