Creating Consensus

[edit]

The discussion that started on the Somaliland page is how you create consensus. Several people are now discussing something, now we discuss it and make our points and provide sources and rationale to try and get a general agreement on how to proceed. Now's the time for you to explain on the article talk page why you think that your requested information should be in the infobox rather than what is currently there. You should keep the discussion in the current section where everyone else is posting as well, so the discussion stays as centralized as possible. I hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask on my talk page. I'll also watch your talk page for a week or so, so you can respond here as well. I'm also going to put a welcome template on your talk page here that has a lot of helpful links. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 17:50, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What I did was I corrected the non-sense you wrote. Isaaq are not Arab, we’re Dir. The Sultan of Dir even listed the lineage of the subclans at a conference and Isaaq was one of them, plus Isaaqs take part in Dir Conferences. People have bent the truth to deny us our lineage and push us against Arabs which we have nothing to do with. AbdirahiimYa (talk) 13:15, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Somali mythology, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Yamaguchi先生 (talk) 23:07, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What I added isn't original research but it's a part of our culture that has been passed down for several millennia. It's been passed down among us Somalis for generations. AbdirahiimYa (talk) 16:52, 14 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
