Information icon Hello, I'm Oblivy. I noticed that you recently removed content from Lobortas Classic Jewelry House without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. No explanation was given for replacing all or most of the existing text and the replacement text appears to be highly promotional. Oblivy (talk) 20:03, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Oblivy. The changes I made describe Lobortis Classic Jewelry House entirely with the changes in the House life since the old version was published. In other words, the previous version is old. Can you restore the text that was published yesterday, or do I have to post it again?
Sincerely,
Andrey Ababinid (talk) 07:16, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello.
A bit of explanation: What I saw in your edit yesterday was the complete blanking of existing content, some of which had been edited by others to add wikipedia-style and category items like subheadings. What you posted is long and detailed (like 40 paragraphs), but not the kind of material appropriate for an encyclopedia. Instead it reads like a long list of projects, written by a company bragging about its work. It also needed significant editing to bring it up to standards from an English language standpoint.
Put another way, if someone said "who is Lobortas?" the article wouldn't answer that question.
So I don't think that text should be the article. But perhaps I was a bit quick to just delete everything. Looking at it again, I agree it's got some good material in it. But it would need to be brought down to maybe 4 or 5 paragraphs. You have good citations which can probably be used.
You can see I've added some text and formatting today, and tried to improve the article. I added back a bit from the WSJ article you found. The middle paragraph you wrote (long ago) about their projects needs to be rewritten. I'm open to suggestions.
One question - do you have a link to this company? According to Wikipedia policy you need to disclose any conflict of interest or payments for writing articles. I'm not saying that's true, but it's a fair question. Oblivy (talk) 07:50, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Oblivy,
Thank you very much for your help. I will take into consideration your advice and will contact my colleagues who are working with me on this material. This is the link to the company website - https://lobortas.com/en
Best regards,
Andrey 31.144.112.127 (talk) 08:54, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Andrey. Just to clarify, if you work for the company or have some other relationship with them or if you got paid to write about them you are expected to say that. I don't know if that's true for you, but if it is maybe you should read the WP:COI article and think about how it applies to your editing. Oblivy (talk) 09:04, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
