This page should not be deleted. It is a work in progress and im makeing every effort to make this article functional. I want those interested in Causal explanation and research design to be able to quickly reference this article and easily understand the given concepts Aaron1509 23:29, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would have liked to make this article a little bit more friendly in the sense that anyone could read it and be able to understand and apply the concepts they have just read about. Unfortunatly i was forced to modify the article taking out several aspects that would accomplish this because it was described as too simple. Aaron1509 17:14, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You should think about how sections of our textbook address issues of study design, and how these will bear on the challenge of testing explanations of causation. I pointed to some in the text-- notably sampling and sampling frames, but measurement is another area. The big challenge for your group will just make explicit the connections between issues elsewhere in the book and the challenge of explanation and how study design can help us make better tests of those explanations.

The notion of testing competing theories is a good thing to mention; also is the notion that one study can not really provide a satisfactory test of any explanation-- and that we need a series of related studies to really address the complicated questions that we tend to want to answer. anyways-- I am sure that we will get this article back in its proper place. keep up the good work. --Htw3 04:22, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
