Executive function edit

[edit]

Hi Arie,

Welcome to wikipedia! My name is Mitch, nice to meet you.

I just thought I'd leave you a bit of a comment about the edits you made regarding different executive function models- Good edit! You've made a very comprehensive edit covering alot of the relevant material. I've come across some of the other members of the APS wikipedia initiative on the executive function page and others. Their edits are always very good. Keep up the good work.

Also, if I may offer one piece of constructive criticism about referencing. I noticed in your edit that your references were put before the fullstops, as is the APA convention. eg text text text[1]. In wikipedia's referencing style, the references go after punctuation, with no spaces. eg text text text.[1][2] I'm rather new to wikipedia myself having only been a contributor for 4 or so months. Its taken me a while to pick up some of the different wikitext usages and I'm still only learning. If theres anything you want help with send me a message, no guarantee that I know it, but I might.

Keep up the good work.

No worries re: the references. Its always good to see fellow psychology students/psychologists making high quality edits.

Here's a cookie to keep up your strength for future edits :) MitchMcM (talk) 04:02, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note from Professor Silton

[edit]

Hi Mitch, thanks for your helpful comments for my Arie. My students are working on improving Wikipedia pages for their final project for our Neuropsychology course. Best, Dr. Silton rsilton (talk) — Preceding unsigned comment added by RsiltonLUC (talkcontribs) 19:06, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Prof. Silton,
I’m replying to you here on Arie’s talk page, as you don’t appear to have a talk page.
As I’m sure you read above, I have come across some of the other edits from other members of the APS Wikipedia Initiative. They have made some very good edits, especially on the executive function page- You should be proud of your students!
I congratulate you on the idea of making quality contributions to wikipedia part of the psychology syllabus. I have only become a wikipedia editor since completing university, but I would have greatly enjoyed making wikipedia contributions as part of my psychology courses.
I didn’t realise that the contributions were for a neuropsychology course. My main area of interest is neuropsychology. If your main area of expertise is neuropsychology would you mind reviewing a small edit I’m preparing? It’s for the page clinical neuropsychology, which was criticised for not representing a worldwide view on the subject. The edit is only 100 words or so, regarding the educational requirements of becoming a clinical neuropsychologist in the US. I just wanted to verify the information is correct before I submitted it.
If you don’t mind doing this, could you please send me your email address either here or on my talk page. Or if you don’t feel comfortable putting your email address on wikipedia, my email address is mitch.mcm@hotmail.com
Thanks
